And as someone else, I believe on this board, said; We’re going to have to make new laws against doing things that no one ever did in the past because of decorum and decency.

This is just the start. The elections are next. The GOP will ask Russia to disrupt the elections so that they can then declare the results invalid. Somewhere along the way, Mueller’s investigation gets shut down.

I understand fear of the unknown can lead to distraught, even irrational reactions. But what exactly are you afraid of here? Don’t you recognize the simple fact that it is routinely common for high level Federal officials to have contacts and interactions with foreign actors of all sorts? Both overtly and covertly, completely legitimately?

What high level federal office did Carter Page hold in 2013? 2016? 2017? In case you need help - this might be a starting point.

What high level federal office did Trump hold prior to his election in 2016 that puts the context into all of the various interactions numerous members of his campaign and family had with Russian officials and Russian individuals with key connections to the Putin regime? Oh, I forgot, they were mainly focused on talking about adoptions.

People have the opportunity to respond and contribute intelligent thoughts - I give people equal opportunity to do that regardless of affiliation. But equal opportunity for equal time does not necessarily mean equal time.

It seems pretty clear what the memo alleges:

The FBI used a document to get a FISA warrant while withholding material information from the FISA court that would almost certainly have resulted in a denial of a wiretap, had the FISA court known about it. This FISA warrant was then used to spy on a member of a political campaign during an election year. The critical information left out: That the document was funded, through a series of cutouts, by the opposing political campaign.

Speaking of withholding material information, I see you left out that Carter Page had already left the campaign.

I’m so old that I can remember when Liberals thought that the FISA court was dangerous, and that our civil liberties were under threat from the FBI and Department of Justice using it to spy on citizens. Now we have actual evidence of how the FISA court can be manipulated into allowing spying on Americans on flimsy evidence, and the answer from the left is to defend the government and reject the mere notion that there might be bias and shenanigans going on at this level. And when people want to shed some transparency by releasing the details of the process, the left starts yelling that we need secrecy and that releasing the memo is a terrible thing.

Anything to get Trump, I guess.

If it makes you feel better, there have been a number of people on CNN who have said that when going before a FISA judge, you’re not walking in with a single sheet of paper. There’s generally a metric shit ton of evidence and documentation that goes with the request.

Oh, I know. It just seems like there’s a possibility for abuse at some point down the road, even if there are safeguards in place presently. I don’t hate the system currently, but you can bet your ass I’ll keep an eye on any developments that become public knowledge.

Given that Devin Nunes NEVER READ THE FUCKING FISA WARRANTS, and Trey Gowdy, who DID, has as much as admitted the Nunes memo is fucking worthless, I’d say we can just chalk this dumb shit up to Stupid Watergate Episode 436.
