The President of the United States is explicitly using the Bart Simpson “I didn’t do it. No one saw me do it. You can’t prove anything.” defense.
Aye, Carumba, you’re right!
I think it was on The Daily Zeitgeist podcast where they said something that has stuck with me since I heard it: he might have not even known what a golden shower was. Let’s say there is a pee tape and the ladies were rented by Trump. It’s possible someone said to him “Hey, we got a couple ladies. They specialize in golden showers,” and he hears the word “gold” and says sure why not.
I think about HOW he denies it and how he acts… he might have ordered the special without knowing its meaning and now somehow thinks that means he didn’t order it at all.
OTOH, I suspect that the golden shower was not directly on the bed but had him in between them and the bed. It’s hard for me to accept that a playah like him didn’t know what a golden shower was.
I don’t believe Donald Trump knows that.
You could tell him ten times, he still wouldn’t know it.
Because Trump wanted him to, and Trump was/is his ultimate boss.
Surely by that highly questionable argument no one could investigate Trump because Trump would be his or her “ultimate boss”.
You seem to be confused here.
Rosenstein was directly involved in actions which are currently being investigated (i.e. the Comey firing). That doesn’t apply to many other people.
The context here is that Sherrerd implied that Sherrerd implied that it’s completely inconceivable that Rosenstein would have conspired to fire Comey knowing that the intention was to affect the Russia investigation because Rosenstein had no conceivable motive to do so; therefore that possibility can be dismissed out of hand and it not subject to investigation, such that it wouldn’t be grounds for a recusal. My response is that Rosenstein had motive to do it, because his ultimate boss wanted him to do it - this is the prime motivation for many conspirators.
Eh, maybe he saw the movie.
That was the detail that made it sound like it might be true though - the bed was supposedly the bed that Obama slept on when he made a visit to Moscow while president. Given Trump’s deep seated disdain/insecurity regarding Obama, this makes it more likely he would be into it above and apart from any sexual aspect of the act.
So the embarrassing part is that he’s caught lying ???
Now THAT is messed up.
Maybe he doesn’t think Putin would do something like that to his good buddy.
Per a WSJ reporter on Twitter, Michael Cohen’s mystery “third client” is Sean Hannity.
So perfect. It’s good to know from where his “fair and balanced” reporting is motivated.
I can’t think of any name being revealed as Cohen’s mystery client that would get more liberal whoops, cheers, and belly laughs than Hannity.
At least we can still find joy in this craziness.
If we couldn’t laugh, we’d never stop crying.
Cohen is such a sleazy poor lawyer, who knows what potential criminal activity may be found in a review of Hannity’s records? Hard to think why Hannity would hire someone with Cohen’s reputation for any other reason. Unless Cohen is just the best Hannity can find who will work for him. How sad.
Now we get to speculate about just what exactly Hannity needed Cohen’s fixing talents for.
And it lends such credibility to Hannity’s overheated exhortations against the FBI/DOJ/Trump investigations. Being as how he’s acting from an entirely unbiased perspective.
Judd Legum of Think Progress tweeted that Hannity’s show at 3 PM Eastern time, started out with music and clips of the Comey interview, then ten minutes in, Hannity came on and said he would continue playing the Comey interview while he thought of what to say. It’s now half an hour in, I haven’t watched the show, so I don’t know if he’s actually come on to say anything.
