A Thread for the Mueller Investigation Results and Outcomes (Part 1)

Best tweet I saw about Gowdy’s expression while Srzok was testifying:

“He had an expression on his face like he was expecting a full breakfast but only got served pastries and cheese.”

When they started the “How many times did you lie to your wife about your affair?” line of questioning, someone on Twitter commented that Strzok should have answered “Congressman, I am ashamed of what I did. I have prayed to Jesus. I am confident that I have been forgiven.”.

Best quote of the day.

Never crossed his mind? Well, no, that’s absurd. Didn’t do it, I’ll buy that one. For reasons of duty and integrity, buy that one too. But never crossed his mind? And I might take issue with whether or not his duty to the country might exceed his duty to the FBI, or the constraints of his sworn oath.

I believe Gowdy gets his fashion tips from this guy.

That “proceeding” is a real shit show.

“Traitors On Parade”. Gowdy, Gohmert, Goodlatte, DeSantis. Traitors. Every last one of them.

Meanwhile, The House broke questioning to hold a 5 minute long vote to table a motion made by Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California to subpoena former Trump aide Steve Bannon over his refusal to answer lawmaker’s questions, similar to threats Strzok received during the hearing.

The motion, after a lengthy back and forth, was tabled.

I heard that being applied to John Kelly while Trump was pontificating during the NATO breakfast.

^I think that’s the joke.

The best sign from London: “THERE WILL BE HELL TOUPEE”.

It probably never crossed his mind that trump would actually win, which would be a prerequisite for a thought on how to prevent it.

CNN correspondent Manu Raju tweetedthat Rod Rosenstein will be holding a press conference at 11:45 to make “a law enforcement announcement”. It will probably be something entirely unrelated to the Mueller investigation. Maybe the FBI broke up a drug or human trafficking operation or something. If it is related to the Mueller investigation, it will probably be something like indictments against more Russians who will never be extradited. But now, of course, I have to sit here glued to the screen, hanging on to the faint hope that Mueller is rolling out indictments against Trump’s inner circle.

I don’t think Rosenstein would make an announcement about indictments coming from the Special Counsel’s office. They tend to handle that sort of thing themselves.

I agree he’s probably not going to announce anything from Mueller’s crew today, but FWIW, back in February, Rosenstein did announce the indictments of 13 Russians for meddling in the election. So, it could happen.

Hmmm. According to some reporters on Twitter, it looks like it is “Mueller-related”, possibly an indictment.

Suspense!

You can watch the announcement live here: https://www.justice.gov/live

I was hoping for something like this. Please let it be something really, really big that terrifies Republicans in Congress and forces them to deal with the Russian asset presently visiting the UK.

My favorite London protest sign so far: “I WISH this was fake news.”

Reporters were given an embargoed copy of the press release. Some were picked up on a hot mic saying it will be Russian intelligence agents indicted for hacking the DNC and Clinton campaign.

CNN is reporting that prosecutors on Mueller’s staff appeared at the federal courthouse in DC to deliver a grand jury indictment this morning.

The indictment charges 12 Russian intelligence officers with hacking into the DNC. Meaning the Kremlin specifically.

Gosh, would it be appropriate for an American president to raise this concern to the president of Russia during a “summit?”

Coming one day after the GOP’s despicable behavior and one (?) day before Trump meets Putin, this is impeccable timing.
