I can’t stand Trump, but I have a hard time seeing how the conviction of an ex-campaign manager on tax and banking charges stemming from a time before he had anything to do with Trump should have any impact on Trump at all. Please explain.

I would offer this comaprison - Nixon was certainly not in any way responsible for the crimes his VP, Agnew, eventually pled nolo contendre/no contest to. But, this just supported the idea Nixon and his staff were willing to do corrupt and illegal things.

Give me the names of Republican senators who would vote to remove him under any circumstances. Corker, Flake, McCain not eligible, they won’t be around. I can think of two - Collins and Murkowski. Romney maybe if he replaces Hatch. You’re gonna need 15 - 19.

I think the simultaneously realistic and optimistic way to view the events of yesterday is that while most of Trump supporters are still committed to #MAGA, there will be some who will permanently jump off the Trump train. Politics is one thing, but a jury of peers looking at evidence and concluding guilt on 8 charges while offering no acquittals is a big deal. And we’re just getting started.

Yesterday was beautiful - and on top of that, Duncan Hunter just got indicted. The Republican party is increasingly being exposed for operating more like a crime organization than a political party.
