A Thread for the Mueller Investigation Results and Outcomes (Part 1)

I’d like to see a change in the law that keeps SS protection for presidents that leave through normal methods (either served 2 terms or were voted out) and perhaps even for those who resign, but not for any that are impeached and convicted.

I’m pretty sure that armed forces members who are dishonorably discharged don’t get veterans’ benefits. I think this is an analogous situation.

I’ve seen people posit— jokingly, I think— that Trump is ingeniously preventing Mueller from concluding his investigation by continuing to commit obstruction and implicate himself in crimes himself via Twitter on a near-daily basis. This could be a corollary to that 12-D chess theory: everyone in Trump’s orbit packed so much corruption into such a short period of time that merely attempting to make an account of it all creates the impression that they’re being unfairly persecuted from all directions by rogue investigators, prosecutors and the media. Sort of a Gish Gallop of graft and criminality.

He should be incarcerated in one of the cages used for immigrant kids.

And audio recordings of their crying should be played 24/7.

But it won’t happen. A deal will be made in exchange for his resignation; he won’t serve time.

Of course the deal should include restitution for all he’s grifted, including whatever the Trumps have sold off of White House antiques and various national treasures. But all that money will probably have gone down one rabbit hole or another.

That would be like a sweet lullabye to him.

Alas, its probably not going to the Mueller handling this. I’m thinking some real Estate tax scam that will probably be handled by the state of New York.

I don’t think that is a very sound strategy. At some point the prosecutors look down and say, “Well, we’ve got enough here to put him away for 220 years, I say we leave the rest on the table.”

On the other hand, it probably has forced the government to spend an excessive amount of money on investigating him. Fundamentally, just because something looks suspicious doesn’t mean that it will prove out to be a crime - maybe it was innocent, maybe there simply won’t be sufficient information. You have to keep following stuff along all or many of the possible pathways until something catches.

I suspect that part of the reason that we’re seeing so many referrals from Mueller is simply because there was too many possible branches. He had to pick a few that seemed most likely to link through to what he was charged with. Though, I do suspect, that he’s receiving updates on things like the Butina case or (before) on the Cohen case, in case something comes up that links back to his mandate.

You’re right, of course. I tend to view Mueller as the master hand moving behind all the various threads.

I have this vision of him as the conductor of a massive law enforcement orchestra, coaxing the very best out of his musicians:

“Hey, SDNY! More cow bell!!”

Cohen might be going to the prison in Otisville.
Otisville?

Otisville?!

Otisville?!

What kind of security do they have at Miss Tessmacher’s place?

Naw, it’d make him masturbate like a motherfucker.

The more we do to you, the less you seem to believe we are doing it.” - said someone totes not Goodwiny.

Like Professor Moriarty, but on the side of good.

Something like that. Only with a lot more gravitas. And facts.

Here’s a shot of the front door to Otisville.

The entire city is down on Level P4. No escaping from there without *Inserting The Firefighter’s Key and Turning a Half Turn Clockwise.

It’s a little bitty place.

Sidebar, please, counsel.

What’s the beef with Otisville?

Oops.

Otis*burgh*.

while the theme to the Andy Griffith show is whistled in the background.

Oooh! The unkindest cut of all. Now folks will find out he’s only a 400-millionaire instead of a billionaire, and that’s not factoring in the debt service.

It’s not the numbers on the receipts that matter, it’s the names.

And is it in Rubles.
