I would say that he overpaid Stormy Daniels ad the Playboy playmate. And if he was paying Cohen for lawyering and loyalty, he overpaid him too.
If he’s paying Giuliani anything at all, it’s too much.
Ah yes, that brand that lasted for all of two months.
Here’s an SNL clip featuring the steaks…made from ‘Black Anus Beef’.
And all the hamberders he can eat!
If you hired Giuliani to defend you from a jaywalking ticket, you’d probably end up on death row.
OTOH, if I ever get divorced, I’ll happily pay for Rudy to represent my spouse.
And he would screw up the Governor’s reprieve.
I understand he is the inevitable choice. I wasn’t arguing otherwise.
Let me predict there will be a new “investigation” opened into Hillary Clinton, her emails, Uranium One and the Clinton Foundation within 2 weeks of Barr’s confirmation.
I wish we were currently invisible to the rest of the world. Unfortunately, Little Donny is soiling the carpet in full view of everyone.
I’m not saying Trump is dense, but his head has an event horizon.
Only this event horizon works in reverse. Instead of taking everything in, it spits everything out: Facts, information, critical thinking, etc.
I’ve yet to see it spit out a fact.
I meant “spit out” in the sense that it rejects them. But I see your point.
FWIW, Twitler is said to be “startled” by Barr’s close previous ties to Mueller, as revealed in his Senate committee testimony: Trump startled by cozy Barr-Mueller relationship | CNN Politics
I would have been somewhat reassured by Barr’s comments during the confirmation hearings had it not been for his actions ahead of the nomination. Namely, his bizarre job application memo that was sent to the lawyers of Trump, Pence, Manafort and others; his editorializing on tee vee about the legitimacy of Mueller’s investigation; the cases he inexplicably believes can be made against Clinton persons and entities; and just his background in general.
He was the AG who engineered all the pardons granted by George H. W. Bush for Iran-Contra scandal officials as Bush the Greater exited the White House, just as the scandal began splashing over Bush’s feet. When some administration officials expressed trepidation at the large number of pardons being granted, Barr reportedly said, “In for a penny, in for a pound.”
Barr’s views (same as Cheney’s) on presidential authority are that it should be nearly limitless.
I get that Barr may have been constrained before the committee members in what he could disclose about his true views, given that if he wants the job and means to do well by the American people, he could hardly telegraph his true intentions before being confirmed. It’s possible he has chosen to put himself in the line of fire for exactly the reason he stated: He’s too old to care about his political future any longer. Maybe he really does want to save the country. But if that’s an incorrect read, and I deeply fear that it is, he will be in a powerful position to protect Trump and fulfill at last Trump’s wish to find his new Roy Cohn. I expect him to fuck with the Clintons and the SDNY even more than with Mueller.
In a normal world, we now have a report that Trump absolutely obstructed justice by instructing Cohen to lie to Congress. This would absolutely end a normal presidency.
I’m guessing that within 24 hours, this will have been forgotten.
Well, now we see if the GOP is as rotten as I think.
We also see how desperate Trump is. A good distraction would be using those plans to strike Iran?
If there are written records to back this up, as the story indicates, and the GOP still does nothing then it’s time to take to the streets.
