A Thread for the Mueller Investigation Results and Outcomes (Part 1)

It’s not just the Russians. The Republicans are doing everything they can to make sure Democrats can’t get to the polls and if they do, that they’re votes won’t count.

Indeed. But we’ll see where this goes.

Bravo!

I’m afraid it’s going to turn into Whack-a-Mole.

Probably, given the makeup of the high court. Still, I like to imagine that the people there are inveterate professionals, despite their difference of opinion on constitutional matters. Guess we’ll see.

Look, I’ve been telling you all, like, all of that shit, and I’ve been called chicken little, nutjob, insane, and put on ignore for my “schtick”. I was an alarmist long before you all were. I think every person here can attest to that fact, right? So all I can say now is glad you all finally joined me.

Look, I get that the Republican party isn’t interested in winning fairly, and I get you’re shitting in your pants over it. But guess what, they have been for like the past 10-20 years and Democrats have still occasionally managed to win some big elections despite the blatant attempts at rigging the system. That’s precisely because the GOP acts in the interests of an extreme minority of people and somehow convince just enough middle class white people that they represent their interests as well. 2016 in a lot of ways was shocking, but in a lot of other ways, shouldn’t have been that shocking.

Where the democrats have gone wrong - and I want you to read this real carefully - is in trying to hit grand slams when nobody’s on base. The Democrats have been trying to win national elections. They’ve been obsessed with the presidency, probably because they’ve been distracted by abortion politics and foreign wars. But while we were distracted with all that, Republicans were locking down state houses and governors mansions. And where the hell were we?

My point is, don’t get too heavily focused on impeachment and the presidency that you miss the real story here, which is connecting with people and selling them a new vision for how our country should operate. I swear, if all we talk about is impeachment between now and November 2020, we will badly, badly miss an opportunity to explain to the masses of Americans why progressives have better ideas for how to run this country. I don’t give a fuck what Russia does short of cutting out the power to all blue states, this past election proved that, Russia involvement or not, if enough people want to put a stop to this nonsense, they can.

Personally, I don’t think the country is against Trump just yet. But a recession could change everything. Just be vigilant. Keep voting. Keep bringing friends and family to the polls.

I’ve been fired up for a long time, and I was called a chicken little for it. Now people want to shit in their pants over this? Isn’t this what I predicted? Isn’t this what I said would happen all along? People started pit threads about me over this and I’m sure many have put me on ignore for pointing out what everyone thought was far-fetched futuristic nonsense. No, I knew all along that this is where we were headed. Now we’re here.

I diagnosed our affliction, and I am correct when I tell you that impeachment - at least now - is not the right prescription.

p.s. It’s okay John DiFool, Colibri, Happy Lenderveddr, Friedo, Guintstasia (?) and Sunny Daze. You can just remain silent if you wish.

Sorry, did not know a great prophet was in our midst, just thought it was a valid point that a show of impeachment that is entirely one-sided would be a net negative.

I think the stage is being set in preparation, regardless.

I’m not a prophet; just a realist who has realized for a very long time that the constitution, impeachment, and Mueller ain’t gonna save us. Democracy means rule of the people; thus it’s not the institutions of democracy that save democracy, it’s the support of these institutions that saves democracy. It’s the spirit of democracy that saves democracy. And our spirit is low because our education is absurdly low. The average American voter barely knows what the fuck he/she is voting for - Harvard grads included.

But give em a good recession, unemployment, and missed monthly bills to chew on and I guarantee you they’ll blame whoever’s president.

Jake Tapper:

I am very glad to hear this. I’ve tickled it in my calendar so I don’t plan anything over the top of this date (void if he’s only testifying in closed session, but I hope that won’t be the case).

Mueller is still officially employed by the DoJ, right? Does that mean Barr can instruct him on what kinds of questions he can and can’t answer?

Probably. But we’ll see. There are lines that Barr appears to be somewhat hesitant to cross. Let’s hope this is one of them.

I wonder what distraction thump is going to cook up for that day… bomb North Korea, maybe?

Can we at least keep doing it until Xmas? Because as soon as the “Love Trumps Hate” shit starts, I’m just switching back to porn.

You’re a delight.

Heavens no. He wouldn’t bomb his buddy and mentor.

Now Mexico or Canada on the other hand…

Of course we kid, but surely Trump (and no doubt FOX ‘News’ will find something. “Windfarms cause cancer and coal is the energy of the future.”

Or perhaps a review of the ‘newly completed’ border wall.

I wish he would just get on with it and build a putt-putt golf course on the White House grounds and spend a few weeks trying to knock a ball through a clowns mouth. He can then give himself a medal, and go on to hole two.

My guess that a lot of Mueller’s testimony is basically going to be quoting from (or restating) what is already in his report since the whole strategy of the Republicans apologists from Barr on down just seems to be to pretend like certain sections of the report (Introduction to Volume II, I’m looking at you!!) don’t exist and hoping nobody notices them.

I dunno. Kim is cozying up to Vlad. You know what happens when your two BFFs get together and talk about you behind your back. It ain’t pretty.

Lol, Dotard, the First of All Fully-Exonerated Individuals says Mueller shouldn’t testify before Congress:

Trump’s pokerface. It’s always entertaining to see. What a fucking clown.
