A Thread for the Mueller Investigation Results and Outcomes (Part 1)

How could you tell?

I’m sure the White House toilet has been cleaned and stocked with chilled Diet Coke and a phone charger. The tweeting will begin within 1 minute of Mueller ending his statement.

I’ve been playing the Robert Mueller theme song in anticipation.

Good one.

I’m trying desperately to keep my hopes in check.

I think it’s not going to be much, but if it is, I have equal parts hope and dread.

11:00- is that Eastern time?

Yep. Now.

He’s resigning!

Holy shit. This is awesome!

So Trump gets off on a technicality.

OK, I’m at work and can’t watch. Is the nub of this that resigning allows him to testify before the House without being subject to Barr’s partisan, obstructive limitations?

He’s saying he will not speak further on the matter.

WTF was that??

And now he retires to Del Boca Vista phase 2, where he can enjoy the early bird special with his wife Monday through Friday, before 6pm. A tenderloin, a salad and a baked potato for $4.95.

So much for “lengthy and substantial”.

I got four takaways:

  • Trump was not charged with obstruction because he is the president. This is the only reason.

  • Mueller’s report speaks for itself, and he won’t make any other comments beyond the report, to the public or to congress

  • The investigators and the FBI did a great job, they are patriots, and any “investigation of the investigators” is wrong.

  • The Russians made systematic efforts to interfere in the US election, and this should be taken VERY seriously by everyone.

Okay WTF just happened. I’m not where I can watch.

ETA: nm

I agree with the four takeaways. It is very much you read between the lines: I can’t indict him; you have to impeach.

He won’t speak to congress? OK then, it’s a wrap.
