So, it IS a perjury trap, right?
His lawyer issued a correction: “He’s ready to meet with them, but he’ll be guided by the advice of his personal counsel.”
In other words, “Sweet Jesus, what are you doing?”

I’m looking forward to Trump chewing off his own leg.
He won’t follow any guidance. He’ll do whatever pops into his reptilian brain, and then unleash hell on them later for his failings and fuck ups - like always.
They found the “secret society” text message that Republicans have been saying proves that the FBI had a secret cabal that was meeting off site to plot taking down Trump.
Here it is, a single standalone text from Lisa Page to Peter Strzok:
Are you even going to give out your calendars? Seems kind of depressing. Maybe it should just be the first meeting of the secret society
My god these fucking republican dipshits.
Typical madcap, whimsical FBI humor.
Yup. Like always. And then fire all their asses.
:smack: Oh God.
Yes, the FBI staff is going to form a secret society and then send texts about it? VERY good thinking.
NEW FBI GUIDELINES: No joking in text messages. Or anywhere else. People with no sense of humor may read them at some point.
The trump strategy to fight anything Mueller can come up with.
I certainly don’t believe that. I don’t think any smart person does.
Hillary Clinton is the Republicans’ Goldstein. She represents a distraction, a way to rally their base with anger. No Republican politician really believes she’s guilty of the silly crimes they attribute to her.
Gohmert probably does.
The Prosecution of Hillary is the Republicans’ MacGuffin.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) was just interviewed on NPR. The opening question was about FBI and text messages, and he immediately launched into a re-litigation of Hillary’s email server. The interviewer kept trying to yank him back on topic but he kept plowing forward.
It was a complete train wreck.
I was listening to the radio on the way to work this morning. As soon as Johnson said the name “Hillary Clinton”, about two seconds into his first answer, I changed to a music station. I really didn’t need to hear any more than that.
he said he will do it. so, obviously, he won’t. not if he can help it. :dubious:
My expectation is that Trump will eventually be interviewed by Mueller in some form. But the lawyers are still negotiating over terms, so they don’t need him announcing upfront that he’ll do it.
That’s what I think. Republicans are like rats that learn that pressing a lever gives them a bit of food. They don’t know how it works nor do they care, they just know that pressing the lever gives them food. Republicans have learned that demonizing Hillary gives them street cred with the right wing base. They know damn well it’s not true, but they’re afraid of the base and keep up the charade.
I say screw negotiation. I’d say here is your subpoena, see you at the grand jury. Let the son of a bitch testify for about 3 solid days, no lawyer.
That’s nice for you, but precedent has already been set with other presidents. See e.g. http://www.wktv.com/content/national/468350933.html.
Bottom line is that Trump has some chips, and I imagine his lawyers were not keen on giving those up, and for this reason walked back his statement.
Now you’re just casting aspersions on his asparagus.
adding the ‘h’ and ‘t’ to his name doesn’t really obscure what he is…
I read somewhere that thump said he would testify “under oath.” What is a thump oath worth on the open market?
