A time-traveling, hijacked MMP

So, Roomie and I are watching Twilight. We’re about halfway through, and we just can’t stop it now.

But dear Og … this is awful.

as my friends and I often say “Whedon did it first, and better”
(we say that about True Blood too, btw)

eta - Drae - are you a facebooker?

I’m relatively new to it, but my friends all finally convinced me. I’m sure I’m not hard to find.

Oh, new baby. Yay! Now we have to think of a temporary name for him/her. Don’t know that we beat tinyninjachef, though. Congratulations to the whole family!

I no longer have any desire to read or watch Twilight. A recent thread in CS put me off it entirely.

The fan club is news to you, Bobbio? We have regular meetings and everything.

Yay for the knitting success, Muppet. I’m looking forward to seeing your creation. I spent some time on ravelry last night and think I’ve found my first sweater… I’m going to do it in a lighter-weight yarn, but I think it should work out OK.

Glad your recovery is going well, gotti.

Tired, still, and slightly loopy because I decided to drink the mini-bottle of Spanish wine that my brother dropped off on Sunday. I’ve only had 1/3 of a cup or so and yet I’m a bit tipsy. Guess I needed to eat a bit more before sipping the wine. I’m currently very slowly inhaling a plate of arroz con gandules. (Although my recipe is much simpler; no meat, no olives.) Also, I added kidney beans as well as pigeon peas. It’s yum, in any case.

I’m sure there was more I wanted to say, but I don’t remember what.

Need to come up with either a salad or a dessert for tomorrow. Guess I should go raid the blog.

Toddles off…

Stoker did it first and better. Everyone else walks in his shadow.

Have I posted my spazghetti sauce recipe? I can’t remember.

I’m home finally. My son is off at his first day of training for working at Sonic. The weather is gorgeous and I should be outside enjoying it, but frankly I’m tired.

Congrats Li-Li!

I need to figure out what to make for chop-chop. I know dinner will include leftover potato salad from yesterday. I just need to figure out some sort of meat dish. This presents a difficulty because I neglected to take any meat out of the freezer.

Drae, your post about your er…um…accident snuck in while I was posting yesterday. Yikes! I’m glad you and your bits weren’t seriously harmed.

Well, I guess I should figure out the whole dinner thing. Hugs and smooches to all!

Congratulations, LiLi! I love other people’s babies. (Sorry, Mom. g)

BLURF. And BLURF some more. Somebody please tell me that I can’t do a damn thing about my bills until I get paid Friday so I shouldn’t be worrying about them?

Stoker did it early and pretty damn well, but there were a few others there before him. Doesn’t matter to me–I’m just a sucker for a good vamp story (pun totally intended).

I just searched and didn’t find any sauces by you in the blog, Spaz, so I’m guessing you haven’t shared.

Sleepy.

Off to beddie-bye.

GT

I made it through work.

Congrats LiLi!!! Have you told the cats yet?

The longer I’m away from the office and the bank is still in business means there’s a chance someone might question why I’m needed.

OK, so that’s somewhat unlikely, but I do have a finite amount of time off available, and I’m now down to four days for the rest of the year. One good cold will consume that.

Also, there’s air conditioning at the office, and it was 95 degrees here today and it’s supposed to be as hot tomorrow. Fortunately, normal weather is supposed to return on Wednesday.

Ouch! drae!

Congrats LiLi and family! Have you tried candied ginger for morning sickness? I gave some to my mom for motion sickness and she swears by it now.

Just a quick blurf here. It got super hot here all of sudden, 94 degrees on Sunday if I’m not mistaken. Today was just as bad if not worse. I left work early for a parent-teacher conference - the Princess is doing well, and I met the little boy in her after-school program who always runs up to her and hugs her for no reason. She hates his guts, or so she claims.
After that I had my second driving lesson. I am paying through the nose, but it’s worth having an instructor who is not related to me, thus avoiding my folks passing their driving-related neuroses on to me. The whole time, I was feeling rather dehydrated, but just drank my warm-ish bottled water and tried to concentrate on the road. I came home, had a water-pistol fight with the Princess, had din-din (chicken soup for her, turkey-avocado sandwich for me) and briefly talked to my bro on Skype - he and his fiancee just moved into a new apartment with insufficient lighting, judging by how dark everything looked on his webcam. Now, I’m not sure whether it was the heat, the sodium in the seasoned salt I put on my avocado, or over-caffeinating from the iced green tea I had with dinner, but all of a sudden I had a particularly nasty migraine. I couldn’t even stand to hear the Princess clicking the mouse on my computer. Mom came to the rescue, taking the Princess to her room and turning her TV down; she gets migraines also and knows the drill by heart. I tried to nap for an hour and a half until the worst of it subsided. I’m still feeling a bit weird and rather woozy. If I still feel like this tomorrow I’m calling in sick.

OK, so that was a not-so-quick blurf. Bear with me, I am not quite all there at the moment. Off to bed.

That wine’s name means “Bull’s Blood:” you’re not supposed to drink it with anything lighter than a T-bone steak! (It’s both a reference to its strength and to the town of Toro)

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Got a big case of don’t wannas today but I’ll get over it.

gotti glad the healin’s goin’ well. I understand the ready to get movin’ again. I’ve always been that way. A few days of doin’ nothin’ is ok but beyond that I get bored and restless.

Ok, time to forage brekkies and fortify with more caffiene.

Later Y’all!

LiLi, the family is doing as well as can be expected. It’s not easy, but we’ll get through it somehow.

But damned if some people don’t insist on adding more drama to the situation than there already is. That’s the way it usually goes with my mom’s side, though… if there’s drama to be had, they’ll take the drama sundae with two scoops, chocolate sauce and a cherry on top  It’ll be good when the separate factions no longer have to be thrown into the same room on a daily basis and can go about their regular agenda of ignoring each other, making snippy comments, and making excuses for why it’s the other person’s fault they act this way.

Very cute sweater, gt! I love the 3/4 sleeves. Please share lots and lots of pix… and let me know if it’s as easy as it looks, because I think I might want to try it out once I’ve done a couple of starter projects to get the hang of things.

Glad you’re patching up nicely, gotti. Take it easy, though.

Off to work. Lucky me, I have another full day of meetings. Yaaaaaay.

Today was supposed to be a day off, so of course I have to work. At least there is hockey tonight.

Blurf.

I have a rare week night bambilance shift tonight.

I “accidentally” worked a half hour of overtime yesterday. (I came in at 8 and was therefore supposed to leave at 4:30, but my boss needed to leave at 4:30, so I had to work till five. Ick.) But, as a result, I get to take a half hour off today because otherwise they’d have to pay me for the overtime. And I have tomorrow off. So if I can just make it through the next eight hours, I should be okay.

I think.

And for those interested–the acid burns are almost totally healed.

Lucky, I cheerfully threw up every single know morning sickness remedy ever. Ginger, almonds, toast, crackers, water, juice… down the toilet.

I got really, really good at throwing up. I can walk calmly to the bathroom, tie back my hair, take my glasses off, and puke.
Was that TMI?

(((Muppet)))

gotti, I’m glad you’re recovering well.
Okay, what are we going to do today? It’s rainy and cold and miserable, and I need to leave for at least a couple hours of Nat-running-around time. Hmm.
