A tired and uninspired MMP...

Heck, I’m capable of that on any given day.

Egads…Apparently they’ve never seen a doctor from India or therebouts. Many years ago, my newborn neice spent a couple weeks in the NICU with a really bad form of colitis. One of her doctors was popularly known as “Dr. B” as her actual name was something like Bharatanarkrishnamatamurthy. I think her son is a user on my Unix system. :stuck_out_tongue:

So you’re at least not alone.

It’s always amazed me that fire apparatus is built with so many sticky-outy things that are equally strong as most buildings so both the vehicle and the building are wrecked. It also amazes me that mere mortals can drive these things though doors that are seemingly only a foot wider than the vehicle. If you ever want to see how your truck would look without mirrors or running boards, just let me park it.

Urgh. Nat was a awake on and off all night, and then sprained or fractured his ankle at about 11 this morning. Only available doctor’s appointment=middle of naptime.

It’s been a hell of a day. What do you do with a toddler who can’t walk? Besides eat them?

Tickle him. If he truly can’t use his nether limbs, may I suggest a trip to the doctor? He may need some tinkering with. Note to self: must read for comprehension. Sorry! Maybe a good day to read stories and do finger puppets? Make cupcakes while he sits on a chair and “helps”? I dunno.
I am home from a busy, but good day, well except for the bit about my inputting 25 new DVDs into the catalog and then loading up the floppy to export it to the other computer (no, I don’t know why–it’s an old, old program and this is how we do it), only to find out that I input all that data into the wrong computer (or at least I couldn’t get the export to work). :smack:

There’s 2.5 hours of work down the drain. Who knew it took so long to input shit? I have a new respect for data entry folk. (I also had to type–as in on an old electric typewriter–all the check out cards for each DVD. At least those are done).

Tomorrow I have CPR recert and then I work on my presentation for nurses which is coming up next week, but I’m in denial about it.

BLURF.

GameCube controllers have finally made it down to the apartment, which means Alex and I can resume blowing off our work in order to beat the everloving bajeezus out of each other in Super Smash Brothers. This is definitely a Good Idea. Oh, and I applied for some easy part-time jobs on campus, doing office work or audiovisual support for shitty pay in my spare time to earn money for gas, and a new computer.

Also… Today sucked. Four hours of sleep, then four classes. Now I have homework, plus make up work from missing two days of classes last week, and I have to study for two quizzes on Wednesday, and I have to go home tomorrow for a followup appointment with the oral surgeon.

I should go do some work. Whether I will or not is debatable.

Oh, no! Poor Nat. Hope he can be up and walking soon.

Sorry about the door, Bobbio.

Glad the lunch went well, Pie.

Film Fest Frenzy sounds like all kinds of fun, Muppet. I’m looking forward to our neighborhood theater re-opening. They’re doing major renovations and are planning to be open by the end of the month so that they can be a site participating in the Manhattan Short Film Festival. They’re also planning to host a horror marathon in October.

“Couldn’t get the export to work” seems more likely, rigs. But given the program’s age…I suppose anything’s possible.

If you’re playing stuff on GameCube, your day can’t be too bad, Moonie. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m home, still rather tired. Had an icky sinus headache most of the day; I blame allergies.

Sort of took a nap, but really need to get back into some kind of schedule. Should work on that.

Back eventually…

GT

Sheesh **Bobbio. ** At least you’re not the only to have done it. Hopefully they don’t give you too much crap at tonight’s meeting.

Today was long and busy. It actually went quickly and I was fretting a little because I was running out of time, or so it seemed, but I am dead tired now. I’ve also been handed yet another new project. I have until 15 October to get it done, but in actuality, I only have two weeks because I start jury duty the 5th of October.

I’ve never done this kind of project before and am sweating bullets. I hope I can get a start on it tomorrow. But in reality, I’ll bet I won’t be able to get to it until Thursday mid-morning. It’s long and complicated too. Bleh…

The dinner with my daughter’s boyfriend’s mother went very nicely. She seems very nice.

Poor little Nat. I hope it’s just a sprain.

I’m still waiting to hear back from my doc. When I opened up his visit summary today, it showed he wanted another lab. I don’t know the results of that yet. Maybe he’s waiting for it too. One of my other labs showed a low leukocyte (white blood cells, I think) count and has been flagged. I know one of the causes is anemia, which would not be surprising considering what my body has been putting me through.

I hope to hear something tomorrow.

The kids are both at work, but I guess I need to get some kind of dinner going for the hubby and I.

The doctor (actually nurse- our doctor was busy) told me sprains were much more common in toddlers than fractures. Everything I’ve turned up online says fractures are more common than sprains, because their ligaments are really tough, and bones soft. He can’t walk on it at all, which means either bad sprain or something broken. They took xrays, and I hope they get back to us soon. It sucks regardless, poor little guy.

He must take after his mother. He tripped on a small toy truck. Sigh. I dislocated a knee while standing still.

Really tired. Bed. Night.

I’m back from the meeting, and they didn’t get your memo. Oh well. As much hillbilly testosterone as there is floating around there, I probably got off light.

I took crappy cell phone pics of the equipment door, the door frame, and the now open bay on the truck. Whenever I get off my ass to upload them, y’all can marvel, but it won’t be tonight. I’m going to bed.

Double post. :smack:

Ah bummer, Bobbio. No one pays any attention to my memos.

Oooh! First one page 2!

So very, very sleepy. Draining few days. Absolutely draining.

Hope your days get better, Soapy. Try some cheese!

I actually LOL’d. I needed that. Really did!

I’m glad I could make you smile.

Ugh. I’ve been reconciling bank statements for three hours now unsuccessfully.

Dear God. (and was it wrong of me to laugh a bit at that? 'Cause I did, but not in a mean way…)

TH has a cold. STOP THE PRESSES AND INFORM THE CDC!!! What is with men and getting sick? I left the room when he started spitting into a bowl of warm salt water (I hope he gargled with it first–but truly, could we do that over the sink? PLEASE?) anyway, I’m just being pissy. It sucks to be sick, ever.

3 hour bank statement reconciliation is against the Geneva Convention, IMO. The Daily Show is on again! Off to watch and the beddy-bye for me. Night-night, all!

Yup, most married men are big babies when they’re sick. I just want to curl up in my bed and be left alone.

Home, tired. More tomorrow.

LiLI, sorry about Nat. How did you dislocate your knee?

Pie, I need to get some Prilosec myself.

BBBobbio, sucks about the truck.

Welcome schnuckiputzi! I hope you brought the customary offerings? Oh, junior high memory evaporates as soon as the bell rings.

MBG, sorry you feel like something the cat hornked up. Great game though.

Apparently Disney is remaking Yellow Submarine. In 3D. I think I’m going to try cashing in with my own remake, too. In keeping with current global events, it’ll be about being in the army.

sings Weee alllll went in a yellow camp latrine… A yellow camp latrine…

For added youth appeal, we’ll guest star Soulja Boy alongside Ringo Starr. There’s no way this can fail - the only way it could be more awesome is if it had tits and was on fire.
