I am positive that the first time I read that it said “I caught a live baby moose…”
Aside from that, I dunno.
Someone motivate me to do all the chores. I think I’m making homemade fries and pulled pork burritos for dinner tonight for a romantic birthday dinner. Gnat and I will make a card and I should get the laundry on and do some stuff.
I have my first dentist appointment in nigh onto eight years in an hour. I will make two predictions: 1. They will tell me I need to floss more and better. 2. I will have to go back to get cavities filled.
My only concern is that they can do something about adjusting my retainer. A crossbite I do not want again, yet it is something I have. Wear your retainers, kids.
My VD gift was a new sewing machine! Woot! And an iTunes gift card. I got him a mini-amp and chocolate. I’m not sure what we’re having for dinner yet, but something simple. I gots sewing to do.
BBBobbio, for future reference, we have Metrocast and they’ve been great. We have their VIP digital package and we’ve been pleased with all of our dealings with them.
Mild and very windy here - the house is open for a little while to blow the winter stuffiness out, but we’ll have to close up soon as the sun is setting and the temps are supposed to plummet. Then we might see 70 by the weekend. Or not - who knows?
We met with our dept head to talk about the potential impending reduction of the command, and from what he was saying, it sounds like the 30% cut is probably way extreme. Plus there is no money in this year’s or next year’s budgets to do a reduction, so that’s another sorta hopeful sign. We should know within 45 days who our new bosses will be and maybe we’ll get a feel from them if or how many positions will be eliminated. Fingers crossed…
Supper tonight is whatever. I’m boiling a chicken carcass, but that’s for a future soup. There are some leftovers in the fridge - we’ll see who grabs what.
That’s all the excitement in my life. C’mon Firday!!!
I came in to report that for no particular reason I can discern (or else I’d recreate the effect more often) on Sat. night -> Sun. morning I slept (drum roll) eight hours. Straight. Woke up once, briefly, for a quick sip of water and then fell right back asleep again.
Means nothing to y’all, but it was a triumph for the ages for me. I spent the day feeling like I’d won the lotto. I can, literally, remember the last time I slept through the whole night all at once, because I remember which house I was living in at the time. It was several years ago.
Last night, not so much. Dammit. But for one glorious, shining night, I was sound asleep.
Fires, LiLi? I’m hoping not literal ones. Also, I commented on your dress.
I wanna start gardening too, lieu! Should at least start to see a few crocuses peeking out of the ground in a few weeks. And maybe the helleborus will start reviving itself.
I can relate to the joy at a good night’s sleep, purplehorseshoe (do we have a nickname for you yet?). I’m a horrible sleeper and am always pleased and surprised on the very rare occasions when I sleep through a whole night. So, congratulations!
Yay for connections to the world, Bobbio!
I’m still kinda tired today. Hoping a second early night will take care of that.
Yesterday was the first V-Day I’ve ever had with a boyfriend, and he promised to take me on a date, so I was already in a good mood. We’re both poor college students with limited transportation, so we’ve only been on one other date, which was seeing Harry Potter over Thanksgiving break. We took a cab to the local pub, sat down with beers and started chatting. He tells me there’s a strip club nearby and tentatively asks if I’d like to go. I tell him yes and he starts laughing happily at the fact that not only did I not get mad that he asked, but I want to go see boobies with him. He then says “This might be the booze talking, but I think I could spend the rest of my life with you”. I reply with “So could I”.
Holy crap. We’ve only been dating for three months, but I think we both meant what we said even though we were a little plastered. We’re compatible in a great way, I’ve never been this happy in a relationship, and he’s pretty much everything I could want. He says the same things about me, and it’s exciting to think I might have found the person I’ll marry someday. And yes, we did go to the strip club, but there weren’t any dancers on stage since it was a Monday. We went back to the pub and had Jager shots, and I was even brave enough to sing karaoke.
Howdy Y’all! I sit here awaitin’ my little charges I am supposed to mentor at a site today. They were due at nine a.m. Wonder if they’ll make it. They didn’t three days last week so I don’t hold much hope. Methinks we need to rethink usin’ the local Job Corps.
BBBobbio I’m sure your enthusiasm will renew this evenin’ when you can [del]surf porn[/del] research your many interests on the intartoobz.
Pepper steak, rice and sallit for dindin cause I took a round steak outta da freezer yesterday. Sometimes I plan meals, sometimes it depends on what I see first in the freezer. I’m all madcap that way.
Vestry meetin’ was loooooooooooooooong last night. We started at six p.m. and I left at 7:45. I thought it would never end! Oh well, we dealt with a lot of bidness so that’s good I guess.
An hour 45 long? Ya’ll better stay out of ELCA. Our Church Councils need at least that much time for all 9-12 to get seated ---------- in the same damn seats they use every month. Correcting the Minutes from the last meeting (usually a page or so) is good for another 30 minutes. THEN we actually start doing something.
Hate organized religion? Then join ELCA - it will be perfect!
