A Valentine's Day Spring Is In The Air Sorta MMP

That’s great, Stuader, enjoy it while it lasts. But last night, I re-watched “He’s Just Not That Into You” for the umpteenth time, and my skepticism has been reinforced.
I wore black yesterday - ticked off a few cow-irkers (BFD). I haven’t had a Valentine’s date since last century!

Three months? Rookies.

I met this crazy woman once back in 1984. Within two weeks she was naming kids, planning her wedding, and oh, mentioning that it was me she’d marry. I was all in and loving it.

We got engaged 6 months to the day from when we met, at the very spot we met (I tricked her to the Delta Airlines terminal at O’Hare, back when you could just do that), and were married 22 days short of a year of the day we met.

This past September we celebrated our 25th anniversary. Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t happen like that!

Geez, and I usually think of myself as the cynical one, and Rosie, the…well sunny one!

Well, right now I’m making a stuffed kraken for an auction at our school. I’ve finished seven of the legs – 42" long, and I’ve sewn buttons up the bottom side to stand for the suckers. And I’m sewing fabric strips together to weave into placemats and rugs.

I had to read that twice, because I thought it said, *"Well, right now I’m **baking *a stuffed kraken for an auction at our school."

My reaction was, “She’s gonna need a LOT of bread.”

Mmm… kraken.

I have decided to release mousie somewhere away from homes. I will make him a tiny shield, sword and bag lunch to give him a fighting chance against bigger wildlife. I will blindfold him on the trip so he can’t find his way back. So let it be written, so let if be done.

Sounds awesome, limey! You must post pictures when you’re done!

I. Have. No. Energy.

Blurf.

Aww! Young Love!

Ow argh. I have just done something to my bad knee and I can’t straighten my leg. I hope this passes in a few minutes, and that I don’t strangle Gnat for mysteriously having high blood sugar again (and acting in a typical high blood sugar fashion, i.e. extremely annoying and shouty).

I’m eatin’ a lunch that would do an eight year old proud. PB&J and Cheetos. Is Cheetos spelled right? I can never remember. Yeah, I could google it or just go look at the bag but I’m not. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

I suppose I should get back to irk now. Le Sigh.

Later Y’all!

My attitude is a little better today. Not much but a little but I might get some actual real work done today.

My annual review that I had on Friday whilst was a good review (I will get a raise and good bonus and most of the comments were good) was completely demotivating. I have never had that happen before. urgh.

Anyways…last nights supper was homemade turkey meatballs and roasted veggies and was yum. (Weightwatchers approved and no pasta). mr ems brought me tulips which I lovelovelove and there may have been some appreciating. Pretty good Valentines given it is the first one we have ever spent together in 6 years of togetherness.

Tonights dinner will be oven baked chicken with a side of baked (not fried) eggplant parm in homemade tomato sauce and broccoli as the broccoli needs to be used up.

Right work must be done!

Lili - don’t hurt yourself!

Limey - when I saw stuffed Kraken I was wondering about the suckers

I’ve got a cold. Sore throat, sore sinuses, stuffed up ears. I’ve been gargling salt water, and squirting salt water up my nose. (not the same salt water). Blurf.

The dog is driving me crazy. He’s had breakfast, his window is open*, and he’s been outside twice this morning. I just let him out for the third time. Ima leave him out there for a few minutes.

Since we’re doing menus, last night I had a little bitty steak AND a pork chop. Wifey had a bigger steak. Plus we had rainbow chard sauteed with garlic, and a green salad with chopped up almonds and strawberries. Yum.

*I have to open the blinds on one of the front windows so he can sit on his footstool and look out at the people going by.

Rosie’s sig to all.

Knee is improving a bit, Gnat is still driving me crazy. TomKitten is playing with the vacuum cleaner.

Mr. Lissar’s away tonight, tomorrow, and Friday evening. I’m trying to figure out what to make for dinner that is low-effort, doesn’t involve standing at the stove much (because two small people immediately need me to play with them) and tastes okay. Oh, and that doesn’t use the oven because Baby is experimenting with opening the broiler.

::does a flourish with left arm and hand:: Acting! Thank you. ::bows::

Da cave smells nummy! What is it about stuff like sauted (sauteed?) peppers and onions that smells sooooooooooooo goood!

And the peasants rejoiced!! My baby girl passed the middle school science Praxis on the FIRST TRY!! So she can apply for certification to teach middle school science. She is SMRT!!

Chickie noodle soup for supper. I boiled the chickie carcass yesterday, stripped the meat off it today, and added two chopped up chickie tits, some carrots, some french style green beans, and some other stuff. In a little while, I’ll fling some noodles in there, too. It smells yum in here.

What else - um, not much. Just another grand and glorious day in paradise. Waiting for Firday…

Hello everyone.

Did my taxes last night. Sigh…not happy. I have to pay for the first time in years. Unfortunately, it’s not a small enough sum that I can easily put my hands on it. Sigh…:frowning:

Losing my daughter and her tuition as a deduction really hurt. We’re going to change our withholding, and up our retirement plan contributions. I guess I’ll have to look into making additional tax payments too. Damn, it’s not like we’re rolling in money here. This really sucks.

Congrats to your daughter, FCM.

I’m glad the knee is improving, Li-Li.

Feel better, Bumba.

MOOOOOOM needs to send some chikin soup to Bumba.

Ick on the taxes Taters. I gotta do mine soon. Maybe this weekend. It won’t take long but I just don’t wanna.

Yay for FCDaughter!

Rosie I saw you trip on that shoelace. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope it all gets better soon LiLi.

We have cheap after Valentine’s chawklit. Life is good.

That’s great news, Stauder. Good wishes for continued fun.

I’ll second the request for pictures, limey.

I’m coming down with the Sick. Sore throat, slightly achey muscles, leaky nose. Ick. I’m all bundled up and have had my chicken soup. Will also be gargling with salt water and ingesting more liquids.

I’m hoping I don’t have to spend my day off tomorrow getting better. Sadly, I have to go in to the office for at least part of the day on Thursday.

I was planning to get taxes done tomorrow, too. We’ll see.

Tired. Off to find more liquids.

GT

I goofed up on one of our W2s, so the feds rejected it. I neglected to put the state ID of one of the payers. Oddly enough, the state accepted the form and already sent our refund. Weird. Anyway, corrected form submitted - we’ll see how long that refund takes.

It may be the last refund we ever get, thanks to the home energy tax credit. Spend $30K to get $1500 credit… yeah, we’ve have had the work done anyway, but it’s funnier to say it that way.

I don’t like the keyboard that came with my new computer. It’s a booger to get used to.

And on that note, I think I’ll mosey off to bed.

Kisses all around! :heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

We haven’t got all our governmental tax stuff back yet, so we haven’t filed.

Dinner was made and et, kids are in bed, time for me to clean and tidy and collapse.
