I think it’s also unfortunate that he put the Admins/Mods in the position where they had to reconsider their judgement to allow him back. Let the side down, somewhat.

Damn, I too am pissed that a self-centered, condescending, know-it-all, was banned for disobeying clearly stated rules.
Knowledge is important, I agree, and not everyone agrees with everyone else’s opinions. Being a dickhead makes you different. It lets others know that you think you are superior to everyone else. How can this be a good thing? Whatever happened to “I know enough to know how little I really know”? Condescencion and belittling behaviour are textbook examples of insecure people trying to lash out at the world with whatever they can muster.
Intelligent people become vindictive for a variety of reasons, social rejection being one of them. Who could argue that Coll is reacting to some void in his life, lashing out at reminders of his source of pain?
He can know all he wants, but if he’s going to be a condescending asshole about it, I hope that he’s incarcerated for a crime he didn’t commit, and daily gang-raped in the shower.
