Sean that was not me. ACBG thinks he know who it is though. He’s hung around this place a lot longer than me, so he prolly does.
I’ll be so glad when this day is over. Every nutjob in south Jawja seems determined to call me today! Obviously probation officers or TANF workers or somebody is cracking down on folks not looking for work. I can always tell when this is happening. See, some of these folks are people I’ve tried to help find jobs many times. They work long enough to think they’re out of trouble and then disappear off the radar until the P.O. or TANF worker or whoever gets on their case again. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
Ok, I’m done ranting now.
Yay for MBG doing the MMP on Monday.
Have a good and safe trip Bobbio. Yay for VunderKid graduating. Yay for the soon to be new VunderLair!
Everybody else, Yay, or Boo or Awww for stuff that I’m not remembering right now.
Alright, this morning’s bloodwork is done, my mom is on her way up from Maryland and nothing’s going to stop her … and TMI ALERT!!! TMI ALERT!!! I just got my period and one of the cats peed in my laundry basket. Like I don’t have enough crap going on.
Hey look, a Friday! Another week gone, another MMP bringing us all closer together, in a distant and virtual sense of the word “together.” Heh.
Today is the Physics Dept. cruise (2 hours on the Hudson), where I get to say goodbye to the professor to whom I owe my future as much as I owe it to my parents. Without his guidance, I wouldn’t have done well enough in undergrad to get to grad school, and I wouldn’t have known how best to apply to grad school or where to apply, and without his letters of recommendation I probably wouldn’t have gotten in. But more generally, he’s provided me with an understanding of what “doing physics” really means in today’s society. I’ve purchased the first season of Red Dwarf as a gift to him, some small token of gratitude. I think he’ll love it.
After that, my family (who came up last night to go on said cruise) is helping me put stuff in the car. I’ll have to convince them to take me out to dinner tonight as well as tomorrow afternoon, because I have nowhere else to eat.
MBG for MMP … heh. I like that. Let’s run with it. MBG for Prez! I’d vote for him. He’s smart, he’s easy to get along with, and he obviously has good leadership and management qualities. Okay, time for an MMP Poll: Show of hands who’d vote for MBG for President of the United States of America. raises hand
Raining lots here today - that’s two weeks now with only a little bit of sun on Wednesday = enough!! If I could figure out a way to export it to the dry and firey parts I would. Then I’d be rich enough to control the weather. I’d tell the rain clouds where to rain and when. And the only snow would be at the ski lodges and on school breaks. And the summer humidity would never exceed 70%
Ya know, I saw that letter in Dear Abby too, and thought…“Hmmmm…nah…it couldn’t be”.
Today started out very nicely for me. My son surprised me with red roses and chocolates for my birthday. He’s such a sweetie.
Congrats on the new baby li-li. Your job is to make sure you spoil it appropriately and gets lots and lots of NOISY toys for the wee one.
MBG, that scholarship thing you do sounds just so awesome. I’m glad you found someone worthy of it.
I know I’m too late, but I’m sending Bobbio and his wife wishes for a safe trip and keeping my fingers crossed for the whole mortgage/house thingy.
I don’t know why I didn’t take today off from work. I should have. Dammit, it’s my birthday. I may try and sneak out an hour early today. Well, I won’t really sneak out. I’d have to let the acting boss know, just cause I’m conscientious like.

TGIF! You can add me to that, too. This weekend has been a LONG time coming. lemme repeat: I worked for two weekends, then last weekend we went downstate, then last night i had a flat, then some people came over insistently even though we’d told them we didn’t want them. Ok, not really. Counting the hours and minutes…
Delores, you know we went to see Larry the Cable Guy for our event last month. Now you? The MMP is going to get a horrible redneck reputation if we’re not careful. (What am I saying? You live in Texas and I live in Kentucky. :D)
Rigs, I’m not getting the roommate thing. You’re like, an adult woman with kids and everything, not some college chicky poo moving into a dorm. Splain.
Bobbio – Wave loud! I’ll wave back! Have a good trip and congratulations on having a graduate!
Da Vinci Madness – We’re currently in the Da Vinci nexus here; witness our home page. See the highlights at the top (for which, I, Ellen, am responsible for stocking with programmie goodness every day of the week)? Apparently this poor guy is on every talk show in the universe with the movie coming out. We, however, taped him several weeks ago.
Happy birthday!
Today I should grocery shop with Driving Husband and buy some more new sheets. Anyone have any creative ideas about what to do with all my old double sheets? I’ve decided it’s too much work to try and make fitted sheets bigger. I guess I could make lots of pillowcases.
Welcome to YaWanna!
Hello to scout!
Time to run around and do important stuff like read and avoid housework.
LiLi don’t forget the all important task of hounding your BIL for baby pics. And, since you ask, you could make dresses out of those sheets. What? You did it with tshirts.
