Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 63 Amurrkin out and cloudyish (hard to tell bein’ as it’s still pretty dark out) with a predicted high of 83 and partly cloudy for the day. So should be a nice day. In a bit I shall purtify and head over to the church house to season up the chikin. I shall also open the overhead door betwixt the kitchen and Parish Hall. We shall serve from there tonight as we do have a nice steam table for such purposes. The reason to do that when no one else is around is because 'tis a booger to open and I prefer my co-parishoners not here me tell the door what I think of it’s mama.
{{{rosie}}} No words, just felt like you needed a hug.
MOOOOOOM ask if the car comes in puce with chartreuse vinyl interior. Car dealerships love to answer those types of questions. Trust me.
OK, I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then purtify I must to venture out.
Up and more or less alert (because America needs all the lerts it can get). Will be getting dressed for the 0830 game in about 30-40 minutes, temperature is at 69F, which is just about perfect soccer weather for me.
FCM, just remember the good part, you can drive all the way to New Jersey in only 3 hours…oh, wait…

swampy, if I may be so bold, considering you are living in the Southern US of A and are (quite happily it appears) “living in sin” with OYKW, how do you and the church get along so well? Understand, I’m happy for you that it does and that you benefit from it, but just be curious (well, nosy, but that’s part of being friends…).
I’m not sure of the details but I think it has something to do with the Toilet Seat of Life.
It’s 38 degrees so of course I am heading out on the bike; flannel jeans. Later is a visit to a Halloween haunt we like.
He’s Episcopalian?
Actually most Protestant faiths are fairly good about living together/in sin these days. It’s not quite to the point where clergy can easily go that route but for laity (even those with some form of church title) it barely raises an eyebrow. Unless we’re talking Missouri Synod or another sept built around being Conservative.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Ally Catt was yowling pitifully in the living room at 0500. My friend is throwing his annual music festival, “Bullstock” today. There will be the Crappy Beatles, and the occasional Obigatory Dunken Prost this evening.
Blurf. I got up at my usual time and walked the dog and made breakfast. Now I may go back to bed or finish one of the books I am reading or find a movie. The Taco Truck is on the Island today so I may go fetch some tacos later. These are very good, fresh ingredients and made with love tacos.
Trip to NJ was aborted just north of DC. I asked a question about the vehicle we were going to see and **FCD **decided the trip was premature. He has not spoken to me since. I know he really, really wanted this car and I really, really feel like it’s way overpriced for what it is. I’m always the bad guy when it comes to stuff like this. Except there is a Harley in the garage…
No more dirty laundry. I’m just miffed at being put in this position again.
So no learning to like banjo music in your future then?
I’m up and fixing to be outta here soon. A friend who rode down from Montreal will be here soon and we’re headed up to the plateau for a ride before coming back here for supper.
Howdy Y’all! Home from chikin prep. It was just me so I knew I’d be done in short time. I like it when I’m by myself and can spread out. I even cleaned up the mess I made cause I’m nice like that dammit!
MetalMouse what ruble said. TEC even has a marriage rite for same sex couples. Imagine that! YP wanted so bad to marry us before he left but it’s not a thing either one of us is up for at this point. Maybe one day. Besides, not only are we a gay couple, we’re a gay couple livin’ in sin!
I foresee nappage before headin’ back over to the church house.
doggio Bullstock sounds like tons o’ fun. I think you should live stream it for us.
ETA: MOOOOOOM he’ll get over it. After all he’ll want to eat eventually and you are the cook.
I was walking Gordie on the greenway a block from the apartment, and we saw a deer.
Me: “Cool, a ten point buck.”
Gordie: "FIGHT HORNED DOG! FIGHT HORNED DOG NOW!!!
red, naw. The banjos and pig squealing are in Georgia.
swampy, there will be a drone.
Spidey, yep. Nothing like cooking a tailgate pig and drinking beer at 0700.
Halfway through irk. Four more hours and I can has weekend.
Former neighbor’s okay. The river flooding didn’t get to his house and it sounds like the ditch flooding wasn’t too terrible. IIRC, the only thing on his property that would have been at risk would have been his backyard shed and it’s up off the ground a few feet. Now my former house, that’s the Gnome’s problem and he can deal with it.
Blurf. My ankle hurts like a mofo, the incisions itch and sting, and this sitting on my ass thing is getting old. OTOH, Airman brought an Egg McMuffin and coffee, so there’s that, and he’s making stew for dinner.
The groceries came, and as predicted, sans frozen yogurt. I have alternate choices for snacking, but still. I don’t have frozen yogurt, dammit!
Dispatch from Southeast Jawja: can confirm - most of us don’t care if you live in sin with whatever consenting adult(s) involved in whatever you want to do. As long as you aren’t tacky and root for the correct Southeastern Conference football team.
Another not-grumpy morning, in spite of the fact that it involved morning and people. Along with a zillion other volunteers age 4 to 84, we bagged 40 tons of groceries before 11 am. Gave away one paper bag per household member to about 450 cars/pedestrians/wheelchair users by noon. Dispatched another 800 bags to smaller sites. Prepped boxed lunches for 500 at the main site. The other sites were prepared to feed another 800-1000 hot lunches. I had to leave at noon, because the Mister had a public safety/ham radio meeting, but the remaining bags were being loaded up for distribution in easterly communities where the storm hit harder. It was a beautiful morning.
(Funny awkward moment: the videographer who accidentally flirted with my 15-year-old daughter all evening at my brother’s wedding Saturday showed up at the distribution, to document. “Hi Jason!” “Hi Miss Rachel.” Jason turns around to take extremely interesting video of trees, and try to hide crimson blushing.)
Now to put on some crock pot macaroni for supper, and head up to the farm and help Mama sort another few tons of crap we’re getting rid of. More coffee first though!
My teenager was bored. My dog has eyebrows now. I laughed.
Energy? The C-store carries extra-caffeinated coffee. And the 20-30 volunteers requested this morning turned into 200-300, so the hardest job was really just wrangling people.
Rosie’s sig to all, and an extra dose for {{{Rosie}}} herself.
Cod, rice, and peas-n-carrots for supper. The dishwasher is washing dishes, the towels and sheets I washed have been put away. I’m pretty sure I’ll be sleeping with Mel tonight.
One question - why haven’t aliens taken Trump to a galaxy far, far away? Seriously, Gleep and Kondok - what are you waiting for???
Howdy Y’all! Home from Oktoberfestin’. I’s tahrd but a good time was had by all. The food was fantastic, the speaker was good and the entertainment was fun. I foresee beddybye time in the near future. I must show up for ush duty tomorrow mornin’. OY!
BigKitty I am in Jawja. Not sure what the confusion is but SSM is legal all over the USofA. Glad former neighbor is OK.
Peaches that was quite an effort and I am sure very much appreciated.
