Let us know when you find out, because now I’m curious, too!
Howdy Y’all! I did indeed get one of the three trees trimmed up this mornin’ and hauled two, count ‘em two, loads of limbs. The tree looks much better. I may tackle the other two (not as much trimmin’) tomorrow. Or not. I can be willy-nilly that way cause, well, I’m retired. I’ve had N.O.L. and now I am in chill mode.
sari you know, of course, that now we all must know. Please find out as much detail as possible.
MOOOOOOM hope the 'puter woes get sorted out soonest.
ruble yay for a good trip!
Butters you social organizer you! Oh and in reply to a post from yestiddy, collards are indeed a lot of irk but well worth the trouble. I but only fresh ones that I have to clean and tear. Once I bought some of those “pre-washed and cut” collards. I don’t care if’n it says pre-washed, I shall still give 'em a rinse. Plus, there were so many stems which is a collard no-no. Learnt my lesson there. 'Tis only fresh, gritty collard greens for da bear.
As long as you don’t sit on your porch with a telescope and a parabolic mic, you’re not too nosy.
But none of us would mind if you did. Just sayin’.
Keep you head down.
You could always take a vacation.
doggio, Alex is a nice looking kitteh. How does Gordie get along with him/her?
I threw in a load of laundry yesterday when I got home from irk. About 2 a.m., I woke up and remembered that I hadn’t dried them. :smack: They’re dry now. I’ll fold them when I get home and hope that nothing is too wrinkled.
Swampy Those pre washed ones are just like you said. Stemmy and just not the same as the fresh ones. Collards and all greens really need a frost to be the best but these I cooked yesterday were very good plus there are leftovers.
You have a point.
But I don’t want to be that neighbor. Although for the most part I can’t help noticing things - like the woman in the white car who would pull up, sit in her car for a while, and then leave. Or the guy across the street who got into a car and right away lit up a pipe. I don’t know what he was smoking, too far away for me to get a whiff of it. I was surprised he was so open about it.
Anyway, as soon as I know something, I’ll share. I’m sure the neighbor in the same house will hear from somebody and I can hear it from her.
Their green truck is gone. From what I heard it wasn’t running and some of the neighbors weren’t too happy about it sitting there. Parking can get tight out front sometimes. Of course I don’t know that the police notice if a vehicle hasn’t been moved, or if they even care. It wouldn’t explain why they were going through it either. I noticed it has been sitting there since forever, but I figured they were just lucky enough to get the same spot everyday.
Still trying to catch up everything, but I can’t forget big {{{{{hugs}}}}} for Rosie.
Going to fetch Girl 2.0 from the church in a little bit. She and her friends had 2 extra days off school this week, so they volunteered at the soup kitchen. Normally, the kitchen provides a free hot lunch on Saturdays, but this week, it’s all hands on deck - yesterday, with about 6 hour’s notice, a handful of social ministries fed about 2000 people throughout the county, including deliveries to hundreds of shut-ins and outlying communities. The community is also providing food, clothing, toiletries, etc. for people who have lost homes, or who have incurred expenses during evacuation, and now can’t afford diapers or such. I expected no less of my dear friends and neighbors, but I’m just emotionally overwhelmed at the kids getting involved in packing lunches and washing dishes and pulling downed trees out of their elderly neighbors’ driveways.
We’ll make some more deliveries after the big lunch rush, and then grab some milk and fresh bread and fruit, and then it’s time to tackle my house. Running loads of dishes and laundry now, getting the trash ready to haul off, cooking a real meal tonight. (Shrimp! Our friend’s freezer was half-thawed, and he’s working too many hours to cook right now, so we have shrimp and venison for the next 2 nights. Maybe shrimp and grits tonight, and a stew for tomorrow.) But, since we don’the need it for now, we took our generator up to friend’s house, so he can at least run the refrigerator and a lamp and coffee pot until the power is restored.
They lit the fuse on the Broadway bridge this morning. There was a lot of smoke, noise and a lot of very frightened pigeons, but the bridge is still standing.
Can’t sat I Blake him, we are talking about Cleveland after all.
Your kids are visiting Swampy ???
Okay, back to it. Ruble, you’re lucky with the salt mine work; mine is more like trying to find out the pony that must be here.
He’s on his way home. Should be here before 9, traffic permitting. He’ll be exhausted.
OYKW called. He has a gnawin’ and a cravin’ so we’re goin’ to the not too shabby Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet for dindin. So tomorrow we can have leftover ham pot pie. Hey, he’s buyin’ so I’m eatin’!
Peaches you raised good younguns. Good for you and for them. Shrimp 'n grits is one of my fav-o-rite things but I don’t make it very often for some reason. Don’t know why cause it’s not that hard to make.
Butters right you are about greens.
Spidey you forget that I’m the one who chases whippersnappers of’n mah lawn.
Spidey your autocorrect is misbehaving.
Mooomm tell him to drive careful or we shall all be most vexed.
I am big breath going to look at the news now. I dread it, but it must be done. Also, laundry. I will add a blurf at this point, for good measure.
Made it through work. Going to Canes Corner tonight.
Don’t fork anything up. :D;)
Gordie is insane with joy over having a playmate. She is not too happy about a giant hyperactive Jack Russell chasing her around the apartment.
My sweetie called me from Breezewood, PA - where I-70 takes a little break, literally. He should be home before 8. So we shall see.
Meanwhile, I’ve fed Higgs and fed me. Shortly, I will load the dishwasher, then shed my work clothes and don robe and slippers for evening chillage. C’mon, Firday!
How did I miss doggio getting a kitteh?!?!
We’re back from the chowdown at the Chinese [del]hog trough[/del] buffet. ‘Twas a little better than not too shabby tonight. I do believe they had just put everything fresh out. So, now chillage ensues for the evenin’.
**FCD **just called - he’s caught in traffic on the Beltway, but I checked and he should break free in another mile or so. I hope. Poor baby…
Meanwhile, Higgs is snoring on the footrest between my feet and Taz is lying on my left side. Ziva is under the dining room table because she’s slightly insane.
doggio for some reason, I thought that Gordie was also a pug. Silly me. A JRT would certainly up the kitteh krazy.
4 more minutes until I must help with math homework.
