A Very Memorable MMP

I have only thrown up once. I’m sure you’ll all be glad to know that I actually paused in writing my last post to go puke. I’ve been to the laundromat, bought enormous amounts of bread, and am currently eating lunch, which is a big cranberry-lemon muffin.

It has 480 calories.

This doesn’t worry me right now, because I’m mostly worried about getting enough calories, but… isn’t that almost as much as a hamburger?

I’ve got to put away the laundry and the groceries, and then have a nap. If I have time before work I’ll maybe make some salsa for Mr. Lissar. We’re out.

Oh, it’s very nice to see you again, MagicEyes, and Mr. Lissar has been trained to make grilled cheese. Monte Cristo is a good idea. Unfortunately about 80% of the time, after working from 7 to 5, and then not getting back from the dojo till 9, he’s too worn out to even cook grilled cheese. I might break down and buy instant soup. I just got mini pizzas.

This hurts my culinary pride.

Well, I’ve been lynched in Mafai III. Damnit.

In spite of having killer cramps I went out in the back yard and took down three massively overgrown hedges. They were crowding out my camillas. My back hurts.

Cat boxes are done and I’m tired, in addition to having several scrapes and cuts on my arm from the killer hedges. One was almost 10 feet tall! It will come back because I can’t get to the roots, but it wont’t be as much trouble next time.

I think it is time for either a nap or a snack. Decisions, decisions…

Geez, I bet I’m the only one here that opened MPSIMS and looked for last week’s MMP, finding this one and going 'huh?", because it feels like Sunday, huh?

Poor Ernie, whatta lousy way to get through the holiday weekend, leaning over to lick and finding nothing to lick.

Ok, back to doing nothing. I have some beans w/ bacon/molasses and ketchup in the slow cooker, and some steaks ready to flop on the grill once all this doing of nothing gets me hungry enough for dinner.

The vacuum cleaner is broken. It broke while I was using it, but that does not mean that I was the one who broke it. I’m actually almost glad, as I hate and despise that vacuum and I sometimes think the feeling is mutual. Also, I have cramps, which right now merely laugh at the ibuprofen.

I’m in serious freak out mode now. Not only did I (finally) submit my resume to Google, but I’ve gotten more emails from that dating site. Ahhh! Ok, I feel better now. (Can I just say that applying to Google felt like filling out a college application? I’ve heard that if you actually make it to the interviewing process, it’s even worse.) It’s the dating site thing that’s really freaking me out, though. I mean, I haven’t been out on a date in what, 5 years? Because when is it the right time to mention that you have a lifelong history of mental illness, but you’re feeling fine right now? And having been told, “Wow, you look *so *much better with clothes on” left me a lot less inclined to get naked with anyone ever again. And my history of picking total losers (see naked comment) has left me many, many times burned, eleventy million times shy. So, yeah, totally freaking out here. (Remember, I don’t drink caffeine anymore. Imagine what this would sound like if I did? )

Ernie thanks you all for the sympathy. He’s doing much better today! It was funny, yesterday he would get up to run, and turn around and yelp like something got him! Poor thing.

I wish it would quit raining. I’m gonna have to grill burgers and hot dogs in drizzle. Bah. It’s supposed to head over your way Wednesday, Swampy. Our yard looks like a jungle. I was gonna take all the dogs to the park today, too. Instead, I touch-up painted some drawers in the kitchen. And got a haircut. It’s really short, but cute!

Congrats on the condo, OWWO!

I’m glad you’re slowing down on the puking, LiLi. I have a fifteen minute dinner that’s as easy as opening cans and boiling noodles. While the noodles are cooking, make the sauce:

1 12 oz package of egg noodles, cooked per package instructions
1 can of sliced mushrooms, with juice
1 large can chicken breast, with juice
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 soup can milk
1/4 lb velveeta, cubed
1 box frozen peas and carrots, or mixed veggies

Heat all ingredients except noodles over low heat, stirring often. When the peas and carrots are soft, add the cooked noodles and stir to combine. High in calories and comfort!

I call it Chicken Noodle Stuff.

Weird dreams, Rosie. Sounds like when I take Vicodan.

Eek, Jahdra. If anyone had made such a comment to me, I probably would have strangled them with my bra. Then again, that could be part of my problem right there.

I’m done in the basement for today, I think. I washed a load of towels which are on the love seat behind me awaiting folding… I finished Rusty’s dog dish and just about finished with Isaac’s - the second one was easier, and should I decide to do a third, it should be easier still, right? MamaTigs, regarding the size, all I can promise is that they’ll be pretty close to what you want. The pieces will shrink as they dry and are fired, so I started out making them a bit oversized - I’m just not sure if I guessed the right amount. But I think you’ll be satisfied. I know the dogs won’t care as long as they’re full of kibble.

I made 2 more cat heads, but they’re not detailed yet - just formed. I need for them to dry a bit before I carve in the features and affix the ears. I also made a dish to go under the flower pot I decorated yesterday, and I threw what will become a soapdish for my sweetie. He asked me to make him one - really! I also rolled out some white clay and used some cookie cutters to make medallions. I’ll glaze them in bright colors then hang them from bright cords and sell them as necklaces for maybe $2 - I figure little girls will love 'em!

I wrapped up by doing some underglazing. At the last show, I made some little pieces and I’m going to glaze them colorfully and give them away to random kids at the next show. At the last 2 shows, there were always kids who were *really * interested in what I was doing - they wanted to get their hands on the clay, and not just 'cause it looked cool. There was an intensity as they watched. Those are the kinds of kids I want to have my little pieces.

The critters are all fed and I have a pound of ground beef that needs to assume the shape of burgers. AFTER I clean all the clay out from under my fingernails, of course. I also need to boil some eggs and make some lunch stuff for the work week.

Oh drat - I meant to wash my car today! Guess I’ll do it after work tomorrow. I’m too tired to deal with it now. Days off can be exhausting!

That’s not what I heard!

Seriously, relax! It will not be as bad as you are imagining, and it could be really good! Check in with us and we’ll help you interview your new prospects.

And remember that you are not the same person as you were five years ago. Most of us aren’t, you know. We grow and change, and it sounds like you definitely have.

{{{Jah}}}

Good, calming thoughts going out to Jahdra.

And I’m ever so proud of your near lack of puking, LiLi.

I’m exhausted, so I’m going to Wild Oats to have a salad from their salad bar and then buy a few groceries to get me through this week’s lunches.

Back after a bit. Maybe I’ll have thrown load 6 into the washer by then.

GT

First off, many thanks to all who serve our country, whether in a war zone (like Rebo’s brother and SIL) or at the rear (like Airman Tigs).

I’m glad Ernie is feeling better, because wow did he look pathetic! He sure looks like a sweet boy, though. I’m happy he’s part of your family now, Rebo.

I was going to post earlier, but got sidetracked. Papa Tigs and I decided to take the Idiots for a nice walk over to the school down the way which has some nice big playing fields out behind it where we could run Isaac, and we settled in at the top of a little hill while throwing the Kong down the hill – to tire him out faster by making him run uphill to return it. Except that after only a few throws, he discovered that at the very end of the long concrete-lined trough of a storm drain leading down the hill from behind the school was a blocked-up storm drain with a simply LOVELY mud puddle in it! Next thing we knew he was rolling around in it getting himself absolutely COATED with lovely dark mud. Stoopid dog!

So after we headed home, we put everybody straight into the car and drove to Alice’s place of employment, where she proceeded to scrub Isaac within an inch of his life. Not that he objected, mind you, he had a LOVELY time getting a BATH! Oh BOY! We would have done Rusty, too, but they were busy enough and Papa Tigs was missing a baseball game he wanted to watch, so we’ll get Rusty later this week. He may be the bigger idiot, but he also knows enough to not roll around in mud puddles. Of course, it wouldn’t look as nice against his much darker fur!

I managed to snag a few photos of the Mud Dog, so will post them as soon as I get them off my camera. He looks SO pleased with himself, of course!

So then we came home and I cleaned up and am now vegging. I finished that one scarf and have started on another one, and have discovered to my delight that by using a slightly fatter yarn, lace knitting is actually not that difficult; it’s using the super-thin lace weight yarn that makes it so hard. So I’ll work up to that. Maybe. Or maybe not. I go through knitting phases; I did cables for a number of years, but recently have become tired of them for some reason. So lace it is.

And now back to vegging!

For the record, I live with a wuss - at least when it comes to temperature. It was 79 degrees in the house and he wanted to close it up and turn on the air. WUSS!! So the windows are closed and the air is on.

The weather radar suggests we may get some rain - hope so! The last storm passed north of us and we could use some precip.

Can’t believe the holiday weekend is just about over. Alas…

Da cave is all spiffed. I do give a nice, stern pep talk don’t I? I really like the smell of that pine scented mop stuff. Makes me think everything is so clean! I’m thinkin’ it’s reward time. Perhaps a nice soak in the whirlpool bath tub with a big glass of wine. I spoil me so.

I have job interviews tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday morning, so appropriate/inappropriate appendage crossing will be much appreciated.

LiLi and BioRosie I’m glad y’all are feelin’ better. Less pukin’ and drugs that give wild dreams are both good.

Rebo I sure hope that rains heads over here. Lately all that stuff seems to scoot around us. We have some kinda high pressure system hangin’ around that keeps us from gettin’ rain, hence all the dryness. The news on tv said if’n we don’t get a bunch of rain starting soon, a lot of places will ban Fourth of July fireworks. Can y’all imagine Independence Day without a big ol’ fireworks display? That recipe sounds supsiciously like that staple of church lady cookin’, Five Can Casserole.

Jah my money’s on you looked a whole lot better nekkid than the fool who said that did. Ya know if stuff like that happens in the future there’s a few of us who can help rearrange faces. All ya’s gotta do is ask.

I napped, and now the burgers on the grill. I’m having burgers, N.O.T. salad and corn on the cob.

Jahdra, don’t be nervous, you’ll do fine. And I bet you look great nekkid.

LiLi glad you are puking less. For a quick meal I mix a can of tuna, a half cup of brown rice, and some frozen veggie with the seasoning, and cook according to the rice directions. Time from start to eat: 15 minutes.

I feel oddly sneaky-ish telling Jah that she must look just dandy all nekkid, but I’m not going to be the only one left out here…

Steaks are done, dishes are washing and/or handwashed, it’s still a nice night out, a small small small part of me says “what a nice evening for a ride”

The greater part of me says that a lawnchair set up outside and a book will do just fine.

OH, some pictures of the paint job. I’m no FCM , I imagine she’d have knocked this off in a couple hours doing laundry, and firing cat heads, but lazy ole’ me, hired Messicans. Anyway, it turned out nice, so enjoy:

Kitchen. - It’s a little darker than it looks there, but it’s a pretty bright goldenrod/yellow.

The bay window in the kitchen with the valences that we had up there before.

Family room, which adjoins the kitchen. That’s kind of a cocoa color which looke really nice with the fireplace. Again, it’s darker than it looks there.

The back dining room wall which is the ‘dark contrast’ to the beige/tan you see there, which is in the rest of the house.

The BedCave in a resplendent blue, accented by the white on the ceiling including skylights.

Cuervo and Marty admiring them fancy curtains and blinds.

Wow, that’s a lot of linking. I’m tired. Time for beerverage.

Bus Dude - I love the color of your family room. That’s close to what we want in our living room and hall. The pumpkin color we have in there now got old pretty fast, and we’ve been talking about colors in the pale taupe/caramel/cafe au lait family. I guess once I’m all rested up, I get to paint again. yay… :stuck_out_tongue:

So, load number 7 is in the washer (might be about ready to come out, actually. Most clean laundry is put away. Went to Wild Oats and had a giganto-humongous salad, then got the minimum necessary to keep me in lunches this week.

I’m watching I Was a Male War Bride while putting stuff away. (OK, I’m actually taking a break.)

Nice pics, MBG. I like your color choices.

Gotta put more stuff away.

GT

Back from work, and hellos all around.

I think I’ll lounge on the couch for a few minutes, and then go to bed. See ya tomorrow.

Pretty walls, BusDude!

After dinner, we took Lucy and Ernie for a walk. We ran into the hispanic family we bought Ernie from, and visited for a bit. Then we took their two oldest around the block with us. They are older than I thought - the girl Joanna is in kindergarten, and the boy Johnny is a year younger or so. Joanna spoke pretty good English and translated for Johnny. It was fun!

I should be getting sleepy. I haven’t slept late all this long weekend. Back to work tomorrow. Yuk.

Thanks for the kind words all. I was suffering from the OMG, I’m fat, stupid, and uglies, and I’ll never find a job and I’ll die alone and be eaten by the cats!!!eleven! I’m feeling much better now, although I just realized I made a rather large boo boo on my Google application, which I can’t fix. :smack: Oh, well, I guess I didn’t want to work there anyway.

MBG, I love the colors you chose. I have house envy. It must be all the peeling paint in my house. It’s coming off in enormous chunks in the bedroom, so I have turquoise and salmon spots with an off-white (several different shades of it, too) background. I could paint it myself, but all the old paint layers would have to come off first, and that sounds like an awful lot of work for a place I don’t own. Plus, I’m afraid that the paint is all that’s holding the walls up. I have got to get a decent job, so I can move. Or move, so I can find a decent place I can afford.
