A virginal MMP!

But could either of you handle a dirty old lady, bobbio and doggio?

Mooom, up until her first major stroke and handing over KP duty to Dad, my own mother didn’t prepare meat on Fridays either.

swampy, I’ve participated in the music for the Kirkin’ of the Tartans during Highland festivals over the years. All I can say is men in kilts, rowr!

Getting things packed up for the horsepistol and my time at SIL’s house next week. I’m debating whether to bring a crochet hook and a skein of yarn for the days after getting sprung but before coming home.

Speaking of online tests, spousal unit and I need to take the safe driving on-line “class” to get a discount on our insurance. Gotta get that done this week, before we forget. Oh, the things we do for money…

Dustage and vacuumage is done. **FCD **is finishing with the bathrooms. Dishwasher is loaded and kitchen is mostly tidy. Go us!

On my cruise, we had 3 stops in Scotland. I agree. Yum!!

Red, I would willingly sacrifice my self. In the name of “science” , of course.

You swiped my hammer last week, and now you can’t find it? :dubious:

Home from deheathenization. We had leftover bbq from last night for N.O.L. Just enough bbq, beans and slaw for the two of us. Go Me! Now I have skettie sauce doin’ it’s thang in the slow cooker. Some for tomorrow’s dindin along with meatballs and angel hair pasta and some to go in da freezer for later use. I feel all efficient.

doggio if Cap’n wants to tart up in a tartan who are we to judge?

Good day all, and a happy Sunday indeed. It is sunny and beautiful here in NM.

Here is a good story for a Sunday. My Dad is an Episcopal priest, my mother was an organist, so when they would go on vacation, they almost always had to see at least one church and my Mom wanted to check out the organ usually. Being the first child, I accompanied them on many occasions, and it wasn’t until just before my mother passed away that she told me I would say, “not another church, not another church!” Churches just are not exciting to most 4 year old kids, I guess. It is not easy being the child of a minister, believe me. LOL At Halloween, I always dreaded having to accept the UNICEF boxes to trick or treat with - I didn’t want to collect money for UNICEF, I wanted candy! LOL There are surely at least some grey smudges on my karma log, I guess.

Here’s another story, just out of the clear blue, which I remembered the other day. While I was in high school, my family vacationed in western Maine, on one of the many inland lakes. We would drive up from our home in southern Delaware, usually up the Jersey turnpike into NY, where we would cross the Hudson on the Tappanzee bridge. We usually tried to avoid traveling on 95, as it is so congested. Anyways, to pass the time, we would play the license plate game. We always had a hard time finding other Delaware plates too, since it’s such a small state. So here we are, cruising the NJ turnpike up into NY state, and lo and behold here’s this station wagon with Delaware tags. As we got closer to it, I realized the car was quite familiar to us, it was my high school English teacher and her sons, on the way to vacation in upstate NY!!! One of my younger brothers was good friends with one of her sons; they lived down the street from us!! We waved with mouths agape - the town we lived in was fairly small (6,000), what were the odds that we’d see someone from there, let alone someone we knew who lived a block from us?! That was an unusual happening, that’s for sure.

Hope everyone enjoys the day today.

I haven’t been around the MMP in a few days. My life is just in so much turmoil right now and I feel like my world is ending and my whole life is being slowly (or quickly?) turned upside down.

Things are extremely uncertain now, but I may end up having to re-evaluate what may end up being a large part of my life… long story, uncertain details.

I may have kind of lost my job… long story, uncertain details.

Life is too confusing.

Wish I could stop being so jittery.

I just don’t know anymore.

Slightly less expensive trip to the auto shop today. Four tires (needed) but so far no repair costs associated with the Check Engine light, which for some reason has been changing states a day or so after the gas cap is removed and replaced.

As in, get gas, a day later the light is on. Get gas, a day later the light is off. Get gas, a day later the light is on. Remove and replace the gas cap instead of simply turning it a few more times, a day later the light is off. Get gas, a day later the light is on. It’s on the “on side” right now.

The shop says there’s nothing in the computer that should trigger it, so they’re thinking maybe something has gone wrong with the computer program. They’ve certainly never seen anything like it before, since Check Engine lights shouldn’t just “fix themselves”.

They replaced the valve gaskets a couple months ago, I’m wondering if that might have been a cause.

I’ll need rear brakes soon, but put that off because tires.

Sah-son is mad at me. He wanted to meet up with a friend down this way and I missed the text from his friend.

I talked with my mother for a bit but probably time to stop before I get myself into trouble by saying something I shouldn’t.

Did a bit more gardenin’- little and often, that’s probably the key. Didn’t have much time, cos of Sunday juggling club. My passing’s coming along- starting to learn a 3 person club passing pattern, 9 clubs 3 people, and you’re throwing to both of the others… Messes with your head, it does.

I are currently making olde fashioned bonfire toffee- the stuff I used to stick my jaws together with as a kid, when watching firework displays. It’s traditionally consumed at this time o year up North, but I’ve asked all the local sweet shops, and none of 'em sell it. The spoon tasted right, just waiting for the rest to cool to see if I’ve got good stuff!

Thanks, folks.

I am so tempted to go down to the local store and buy alcohol, though I swore last December that I’ve quit drinking, and haven’t gone back to it since. But it’s so tempting.

We’ve been busy “coping.” Hubby goes from mad to sad and back again. Now he’s focusing on the parents’ caregiver, a woman he went to highschool with.

It seems she has a video side business. She takes great care of the folks and I say, what she does on her own time isn’t hurting anything. He wants her in jail. (What she’s doing isn’t illegal, just skevy. (I don’t think that’s spelled corectly, but it’s not a word I use frequently, sorry.)

He’s with his parents now. I couldn’t go, but he’s taking pictures and Pop looks better than I expected. I think Hubby being there is helping.

Yay! The bonfire toffee worked! It’s a really tricky texture- it should be quite brittle, but then goes chewy in yer mouth.

I’ve not tried making it since I was a wee kiddie, when we made a tray of goop.
Now I just need to find a fireworks display to watch while I eat it, as the tradition goes.

Time to feed the dog and veg the night away. *** MWAH!***

sounds like he just wants to be angry at somebody.

My mother asked me to stay another night so I am. My niece is coming over tomorrow and so I’m hoping maybe she will help Sah-son load up the truck and ride out to unload some stuff and then come back - since nobody else seems to be following through.

Laundry is done, Gordie is walked.

morgyn, you may need a new gas cap. If it isn’t sealing correctly, it will trip the check engine sensor. It will be a well spent $ 10 at AutoZone.

The friend who volunteered to take me to the hospital tomorrow has gone dark. If he doesn’t contact me by six, I am going to give da nephew a call and make other arrangements.

Go tomorrow.
