Aaron Sele, you fucking SUCK!!!!!!!

Oh yeah, and getting BK for Hilly was a coup for Theo. Couldn’t have worked out better.

Garcia I’ll give you, but Moyer is tied for the league lead in victories. Not only that, but he’s tied for eighth in strikeouts, which is astonishing given that he’s a junk-ball pitcher.

Who cares that he’s got no heat? He’s freakin’ eerie when it comes to getting into players’ heads.

Give him time.

Time as in a few years? I think he’s got another couple of seasons in him. Nageotte and Blackley should be ready by then. The M’s are fine.

Time as in a few weeks. His post-ASB ERA will be… 5.20+.
Also, there’s a really interesting about Jenks in this month’s ESPN mag, neurotik and deb. Dunno if those are available in any other medium.

Hahaha! Angels suck!

(I am sooo constructive.)

Well, WL, would you care to put something on that?

Yeah, I’ve got a subscription so I’m eagerly awaiting my copy.

And why would you think his post-ASB ERA will be 5.20+? There’s been nothing to indicate that that would happen.

Call it a hunch.

gr8guy, name your terms. Let’s call the over/under an even 5.00 post-ASB, since I was shooting for an exact figure with 5.20.

First, I’d like to thank Mr. Sele for his pleasant outing yesterday against the Devil Rays. Perhaps he doesn’t suck quite as bad as I thought against teams that can’t hit.

And what do we want to put on this? I’ll take the under if gr8guy doesn’t show in a few days.

Hmm. As a student, I be po’, so we’re going to have to put prestige on the line in some way instead. Or perhaps this: I should be in the Bay area some time late in the fall to celebrate finishing up my degree… how 'bout loser pays winner’s tab at an accompanying Dopefest? shrugs

Alternatively, I’d be happy to let Neurotik take my place so that I can bask in the glory of victory or suffer the agony of defeat, if he has something more interesting to suggest.

Might I suggest a wager. How about the loser must extoll the virtues of the winners team in a thread created in MPSIMS, no sarcasm allowed.

I’ll take both bets. I’ll always accept a wager for a few beers.

And as long as you don’t try to get me to say anything about the Yankees, threads in MPSIMS/sig lines for a month etc. are all fair game.

tap, tap, tap

Excuse me, Mr. Lightning. Perhaps you’d like a peek at Mr. Moyer’s line for tonight’s game against the Phillies.

I feel sorry for the Angels. I had to suffer through his pitching with the Mariners. He sucked in Seattle and now he sucks in Anaheim. Let’s hope he can get into some kind of a groove and start winning some games.

And that’s the bottom line.

So there you go. Trade him even up for Kenny Rogers.

For the edification of jinwicked, who no doubt has acquired a keen insight into baseball by this point:

Mr. Rogers is a better-than-average pitcher for the Minnesota Twins, who has somehow managed to acquire, in eight postseason appearances, an 0-3 record with a 9.47 ERA. This reflects poorly on his ability to perform well in big games.

But see, at least Mr. Rogers is still capable of getting you to the postseason. You can always dump him after you are there.

sigh

JonScribe: I saw it. I was following the game online. He was riding the pine on my one fantasy team where I was forced to draft him.

So evidently he’s won his last 5 starts? Wonder why I still can’t trade him away.

I stand by my prognostication.

Also, I’m not sure I’d characterize Kenny Rogers as better-than-average. I’ve never looked at his numbers, though. Actually I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t. I’m sure I could name dozens of AL pitchers that I’d rather have. I mean he’s what, the 6th-best starting pitcher on the Twins roster right now?

I don’t know if Rogers is better than average NOW, but over the course of his career he has certainly been quite a bit better than average.
