First, I’d like to thank Mr. Sele for his pleasant outing yesterday against the Devil Rays. Perhaps he doesn’t suck quite as bad as I thought against teams that can’t hit.

I feel sorry for the Angels. I had to suffer through his pitching with the Mariners. He sucked in Seattle and now he sucks in Anaheim. Let’s hope he can get into some kind of a groove and start winning some games.

Mr. Rogers is a better-than-average pitcher for the Minnesota Twins, who has somehow managed to acquire, in eight postseason appearances, an 0-3 record with a 9.47 ERA. This reflects poorly on his ability to perform well in big games.
But see, at least Mr. Rogers is still capable of getting you to the postseason. You can always dump him after you are there.

Also, I’m not sure I’d characterize Kenny Rogers as better-than-average. I’ve never looked at his numbers, though. Actually I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t. I’m sure I could name dozens of AL pitchers that I’d rather have. I mean he’s what, the 6th-best starting pitcher on the Twins roster right now?
I don’t know if Rogers is better than average NOW, but over the course of his career he has certainly been quite a bit better than average.
