This was my favorite reality competition, but only before the celebrity editions. They are bringing it back, without the celebrities!

Nice. I suppose it’s too much to hope for to have Anderson Cooper hosting it again.
Cooper won’t be available, but this is great news indeed! Thanks for letting us know about it, Mahaloth.
Clearly the only suitable hosts are Corbin Bernson (but he already has a hosting gig on GSN) and Kathy Griffin.
Awesome, I was hoping that they’d bring it back someday, especially since I could never stomach the stupid celebrity editions.
I see from the article that Stone-Stanley Entertainment no longer exists, but Stone will produce the new show. I wonder if that means there will be a difference in terms of production. I hope not.
And I hope they use the same music cues. The Mole had some of the best music cues of any reality show.
And I hope they broadcast in wide screen. It’s time for the reality shows to catch up with prime time sitcoms and drama.
This is great. I watch and like The Amazing Race, but I often feel slightly guilty about it, since it’s somewhat akin to watching Maury or Montel. The Mole had exotic locations like TAR, but required more intelligence and deviousness (on the part of players and viewers). TAR is mostly voyeurism and schadenfreude.
Too bad Anderson won’t be there; it was the first thing I saw him in.
AWESOME! I loved The Mole. It was the greatest reality show.
It really is too bad that Anderson Cooper won’t be able to host.
How about:
I loved Anderson Cooper hosting the Mole. The Celebrity editions were fun in a campy sort of way, but I’ll be glad to see a real one.
I loved the one where Bill was the mole and Dorothy was the winner. (Do I have to spoiler this? After all…it IS a reality show.)
Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!! The only reality show I can watch without hating humanity! Thanks for the heads up. And I too, had my first exposure to Anderson Cooper there.
I can’t believe no one’s mentioned Anderson Cooper. I miss him!
Has anyone mentioned Anderson Cooper? I can’t even imagine who they’d get who would be a tenth as good.
One of my favorite “Mole” moments (can’t remember if it was season one or two) was how the teams had these obscenely physical tasks to do in this little Italian town. One a couple of occasions, they’d turn a corner to find Anderson Cooper standing there eating a sandwich, nonchalantly saying “You guys doing okay?” A nice little slap in the face to the contestants in a smarmy way. I loved it.
There was one where someone got locked into a room with “Tiny Bubbles” playing over and over all night … another great moment.
And sometimes it would play backwards, which caused the contestant to joke “Paul is dead!”
I loved The Mole. Kudos to ABC.
And they also played it at varying speeds! That would have irritated me in less than 10 minutes, I was impressed that he made it the whole night.
I was impressed that Dorothy was able to make it twenty minutes in there with the giant roaches. I don’t think I would’ve made it a minute. I really hate roaches. I’d have been hyperventilating.
