There was a workplace shooting today in Albuquerque. 4 wounded, 5 killed, 1 suicide. This happened just around the corner from my company. We were in lockdown until a few minutes ago (about 5-6 hours worth). Still can’t leave via the preferred route.
Though I’ve never had much interest in IRL dealings, I know there are several other Albuquerque dopers. You folks OK?

Experienced something similar in Chicago a couple years back. Swat teams and everything. They got the guy in the end, but not until he finished off a couple people. We were very frightened (but certainly not as frightened as the poor people witnessing all this) on our floor, since they told us not to go near any exits (over the PA), and pretty much nothing else. We got better info from phone calls and outside news reports.

No I heard nothing. There are no operable windows on our building. I can barely hear thunder or the aircraft that pass over at ~1500 ft. Afterward, I had to be standing at a window to hear the helicopters circling.
There was a report that the shooter fled in the direction of our building. Looks like he actually offed himself in the building.
There has been a recent rash of vehicle break-ins in this biz park, so my theory is that our parking lot thief heard all the sirens and beat feet. The description of the fleeing man matches the guy who has been seen casing parking lots.
googling, it is not quite as close as I was thinking. Hard to keep track of which building is which in this biz park, as we only deal with a couple of them.
I work in the building in the middle next to the residential area. The shooting was at the place flagged.
