I’m not gonna go into details here, but i’ll just say that yesterday was a really lousy day. One of those “i should’ve stayed in bed” type of days. Needless to say, by the time work was over, i was really ready to go nuts.
Fortunately, yesterday provided me with the perfect venue to go nuts in: the monthly Critical Mass ride. Before the ride started, i ran into this woman i know who is visiting from Amsterdam. I first met her when she visited a few months ago, and now she’s back for another week. I should probably mention here that she’s really cool and really attractive as well.
Anyhow, the ride starts and i’m doing my normal thing which is to wander around by myself and try to grasp all areas of the crowd, in the front and the back and the middle and everything. After about 45 minutes, we’re at a stop and behind me i hear this clunk “sorry!” clunk “sorry!” clunk “sorry!” and this woman comes up next to me. She looks at me and goes, “now see, i just nearly caused three accidents trying to get to you!”
Well, that totally made my day. Suffice to say, i stuck by her side for the rest of the ride.
Reminds me of a funny thing that happened to me last night at dinner. I went out with a couple of friends and we were discussing my current love situation. Well, this is one of those restaurants where they write on the table, so my friend Abi gets out a crayon and writes in front of me, “I am very very available.” and then my phone number.
We all get a good laugh out of it, and don’t think anything about it, until our server who noticed our little “graffiti” earlier and who was quite cute, comes over, asks if we want anything else, puts her hand on my shoulder, bends down and asks if that’s my real phone number. I laughed and said yes. So she walks off, and my other friend who was sitting opposite of me saw her trip over three chairs on her way back to the kitchen because she was apparently turned around looking at me. I only heard the clatter.
I thought this was hilarious, and it gave me a little ego boost. Anyway, just thought I’d share. Sorry for the hijack.
This whole thing sounds great, but I’m not getting a clear picture.
What is Critical Mass? A Reform church?
And were you in a car or on foot? Are these real accidents?
