Yeah, I started this thread to pit him over his defense of Josh Duggar. (Who only molested his sister because he was a horny teenager, and really, it’s no different from two kids playing doctor!)
You could always read the thread before posting too. Just a thought!
You could read the post you just quoted for comprehension. TroutMan made his point with logic and examples, you didn’t.
As for reading the thread, how many hundred posts are there? I have read parts of it in the past. Mostly I was reacting to the most recent revival over his alleged family members and the various apparently contradictory stories about them. It seemed like a pile-on over nothing, especially in a thread titled “What the fuck is wrong with you” that actually started over his defense of Josh Duggan. It’s all about the perspective.
That’s not our problem. Ace has shown himself to be a total douchebag over the years with no intention of learning.
If you enjoy his popcorn balls and caramel apples thread you might enjoy this Twitter account
An acey comment pops up in the blackface thread, I click and…

Huh? It all seems pretty sensible.
So this seems like the right thread to ask - “aceplace57, what the fuck is wrong with you”?
Has our beloved acey been replaced by a pod person?
Ugh, I dunno why I’m resurrecting this thread to bring this up, but it riled me up and I can’t say anything in the thread itself.
In the “RIP Peter Tork” thread in CS, acey plops in to say he didn’t know The Monkees well enough to know which of them was Peter Tork himself, and drops a snide remark about the only thing he “knows” about the Monkees, which is that all their music was done by session musicians (totally not true). But you know, RIP to him and all that.
The guy’s just so fucking tacky. Know when to keep your mouth shut, dude.
Oh ace, never change!
(Oh, and, according to a thread I ran across earlier today, from 2013, his daughters were 17-18 at the time. The saga goes on!)
Peter was a serious musician before he became an actor, wasn’t he?
Yes. But he was the only one in the band who was. In fact, he was the only one allowed to play on the first two albums. It’s absolutely true that the first two albums were completely done by session musicians (other than Tork).
The next two albums (*Headquarters *and Pisces, Aquarius) were done by the band themselves, and did very well. Whether that’s because they were good or because of the built-in advertising from the show is a question I leave to others. The albums after Pisces were also recorded by the band (though Tork left about that time) and mostly failed, and that coincided with the cancellation of the show.
Erm, Mike Nesmith had already released several singles by the time he became a Monkee. He also has producer, composer, guitar and vocal credits on the first two albums (but yes, he wasn’t allowed to play on any tracks he produced). He was indeed a real musician before he was an actor.
And Davy Jones was a Broadway star (as The Artful Dodger in Oliver!, he received a Tony Award nomination, AND performed music from the show on The Ed Sullivan Show on February 9, 1964 – same night the Beatles first appeared there).
It annoys me to encounter people saying “musicians” with the implication that the category excludes singers.
So, Assplace dropped this strange little turd in the middle of The Green Book thread.

So, he wants us to know he was the victim of “reverse racism”, because some of the black guys at school were mean to him. Like there’s any sort of equivalency between getting bullied by a few individuals with chips on their shoulder and the decades of systemic racism that pervaded parts of this country not that long ago.
Then he closes by letting us know that some of his best friends are black.
Seriously, it’s like he’s this clueless old fart roaming around the SDMB. This thread popped up on his screen, and took that as an invitation to stop in and treat us all to a taste of his random musings on race in America, that have absolutely nothing to do with the subject of the thread, And it’s not a pretty sight.
I wonder how he’d reconcile that post with this one:
Maybe that was the “cousin’s daughter” that he took in when the cousin ran away and joined the circus—or whatever the hell the story was. I’m having trouble keeping track of all the characters in the ever-expanding Aceyverse.
So his daughter is still in college. Say she is doing a long program and that she is 27. Even if by “90s” he meant 1999. That would mean he got his 7 year old daughters belly button pierced.
It’s going to be a long road to recovery for Notre Dame. Thankfully, ace can provide some unique insight.
He may have outdone himself this time.
After Biden officially declared his candidacy this morning, Happy Lendervetter posted a link to an Onion article about Biden revving up his “campaign motorcycle”, which he won in a drag race against Tip O’Neill in 1981. He fondly refers to said vehicle as a “white-hot clam magnet”, and shares happy memories of cruising around Delaware with Nancy Pelosi passing him “ice-cold tall boys” from the sidecar.
acey doesn’t realize it’s a parody!!!
How can someone be that stupid and still feed themselves?
I think that Onion article is funny even by The Onion standards of funny.
I simply am amazed that anyone could read that and not know it was satire.
And not only fail to recognize it as satire but enthusiastically endorse Biden based on it! The mind boggles.
It’s kind of sobering to think, if Dems ever came up with a Trump equivalent, he’d probably get elected.
