…because for the life of me, I CANNOT find the thread ID.
Now that I’ve revealed how impossibly dense I am, can someone tell me:
-
How to locate the thread ID?
-
Where I should have looked on the message board to find an answer to this question? (I did try looking around, but the info on using vB is pretty cryptic.)
It says right up there in the address bar once you click on the thread in question. For example, this thread is
http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=**421172**
If you want to link to a post, you can hover your mouse over the little number in the upper right hand corner of said post to find its number. For example, your post is
http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=**8582229**&postcount=1
There’s probably a more elegant way of finding those numbers, but we’ll need a vB maven to explain those, as I have no idea otherwise.
THANKS.
…ignorance successfully fought, once again.
The easiest way to link to a thread is to copy the URL from the address bar into your clipboard, and then paste it into your post.
