Sonny Chiba, with his huge dark eyebrows, spiky black hair, sideburns, broad mouth, and superhero physique is the traditional answer. He looks so much like a 70’s anime character it’s almost disturbing.
His most popular movies in the US were the insanely violent Street Figther series. He actually has appeared in quite a few movies, some of which were fairly serious, despite the fact he was obviously meant to deal with life’s little problems by ripping off their genitals.
