Actors you don't like anymore

you know the only “good guy” role I’ve liked him in was space cowboys and he was smarmy even then

I loved my dad’s '70 T-bird. it was very pretty. The last of the good-looking T-birds.

If racism is your “do not cross” line, you’re going to have a hard time finding anybody from that generation that you can watch.

I had a '73 Gran Torino, just one year after the movie’s, which I believe was a '72.

It’s true that racism was commonplace back then. But most actors were not members of a White supremacist group.

I emailed TCM the other day saying that they should comment on Coburn’s glaring flaw. I just got a generic reply thanking me and saying my comments have been forwarded to their programming department.

I actually can’t remember too many movies that I enjoyed with Randy Quaid, other than Independence Day, of course, but I wouldn’t even be tempted to watch anything with him in it these days.

Braveheart was my all time favorite movie and I hate Mel Gibson for ruining that for me.

I don’t like Independence Day, but he is very funny in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and the original Vacation movie, where he also briefly shows up.

However, Christmas Vacation 2 showed that he is, at best, a funny side character that should not be explored further. And, yes, if you did not realize, there is a sequel to Christmas Vacation. No, Chevy Chase is not in it.

But, yeah, Randy Quaid will never work again. Doesn’t stop his character in Christmas Vacation being funny to me, though.

I’m not sure I’ve ever watched one of those movies. I’ve never been a fan of that kind of comedy. I’m sure that isn’t one of my better traits.

While I’m here though, and in a blatant attempt to redeem myself, if I may ask a favor of the universe, please never ruin Princess Bride for me.

I try not to let actors’ political views prevent me from enjoying their work. The problem is that those that have gone full-on QANON also seem to have lost the ability to act, by and large. Perhaps the same mental degeneration that’s causing them to believe insane conspiracy theories has killed off their other faculties. Leaving aside the perpetual D-listers like Sorbo and Baio, when was the last time Jon Voight gave a decent performance? Eastwood as noted is making tepid pointless films. James Woods seems to have retired. I suppose some of that could be chalked up to age but still, it’s a sad state of affairs.

Speaking of mental deterioration, Randy Quaid used to be quite a decent actor and has picked up a few awards and nominations over the years. When did he go off the rails? He won an acting award in 2008 (for Real Time), but by 2011 he was self-producing Star Whackers. Seems to have come on suddenly.

I came in here to say Cosby. Completely unwatchable for me.

As much as I can’t stand the guy, he was pretty good in Ray Donovan. Unlike Baio and Sorbo, Voight can act. It’s a shame he’s such an asshole.

I was trying to think if I would find Bill Cosby’s “Himself” special funny still. I might just a bit because it really was hilarious, but I don’t think I can watch him without feeling a bit sick. What a failure of a man.

I thought there was a thread about Andy Dick, and maybe there is somewhere, but this will have to do.

Anyway, this very controversial YouTuber did an analysis of him and I thought it was worthy of being shared. (This guy actually did one on GG Allin without use of profanity.)

I agree about the posters who mentioned DeNiro and Pacino, its been a downhill race to the bottom in this century for both. BUT i think they both did excellent performances in The Irishman, mostly dues to the great director i assume. Pesci also worth mentioning.

Agree with posters that mentioned Cosby, Smith and others.

Randy Quaid on the other hand, i feel has done a lot of great roles. He is crazy now, but wont stop me from watching movies with him in.

How about Roman Polanski, ive enjoyed a ot of his movies trough the years, and still do. Despite him being who he is…

What great roles did he have that aren’t Cousin Eddie or that nutty guy in Independence Day?

I’m not doubting, just wondering. I really only remember those and him losing his mind the last decade or so.

He did act in Rush Hour 3…but is he really an actor mainly?

I find I can still listen to Cosby’s stand-ups from the sixties. OTOH, I will not watch another rerun of The Cosby Show ever again. Not that it hadn’t degenerated into Cos’ Moral Soapbox toward the end of its run…

Even if all the allegations about date-raping hadn’t come about, I was already soured on Bill when I found out he cold-cocked Tommy Smothers at the Playboy Mansion. Dick move. (No puns intended)

I thought about watching “Himself” from 1981. I found it to be hilarious at one point, just incredibly hilarious. Now, I just don’t think I can listen to Cosby talk about family life at all.

I’m not embarrassed to say that I really looked up to Bill Cosby. Now, even his doctorate isn’t real. Nothing about him was real.

He was in The Last Picture Show and its lesser-known sequel, Texasville. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Last Detail. His other notable films include Paper Moon, The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, Bound for Glory, Midnight Express, Parents, Days of Thunder, Kingpin, and Brokeback Mountain.
