Vanessa Angel went downhill fairly quickly after the TV series “Wierd Science” wrapped. By 2000 she had guest appearances on “SG1” wherein it was apparent she was fading quickly.
I haven’t seen her lately – but she was one of the most beautiful women of the mid-90’s.
I’m sure that’s true in many cases. At least some of these women who have retained their looks appear to have done so naturally. For example, I’d be surprised if Courtney Thorne-Smith (who is turning 40 in November) has had any work done on herself.
Robin Wright Penn. She looked lovely in The Princess Bride, but when she was in The Pledge, she looked like hell. Then again…perhaps she was made to look that way on purpose? I hope the latter is correct.
I’m probably in the minority on this one, but I was madly in love with Scarlett Johannson in Ghost World, and al lthe way up until Lost in Translation. Her recent appearances (not counting the previews for the Black Dahlia) just make her look terrible, though.
She went from the girl-next-door eidos to skeletal.
I know this thread is about actresses, but you reminded me of Cary Elwes in the Princess Bride and Robin Hood. I don’t know what happened to him between then and Saw, but he aged ridiculously quickly in ten years… and lost his ability to act on top of it.
Haven’t seen the L word, so maybe she morphed again. It happens. All she’d have to do to improve over Four Rooms is stop starving herself. IIRC, her cheekbones looked like they were going to pop out of her skin. I mean, compare her almost surreal beauty in “Flashdance” to the photo at the top of this page. She still looks good, but she’s returned to the ordinary world as opposed to the hyperbeauty she had in Flashdance.
