Adagio Tea Company Rocks!

In this thread about the virtues and joys of teas, several posters recommended www.adagio.com as a place to buy loose teas. I decided to try it and ordered some stuff.

Wow. The shipping was only $3.75 for 7 little tins, which are each labeled with the tea name, the steeping temperature, and how long it needs to steep. They also threw in a free sample of a seasonal flavored black tea (pumpkin spice). As a result, I have been able to taste exotic teas and find out what my taste preferences are, and I plan to order a new round of samples when I’ve gone through all these. One can become a connoisseur of fine teas at a reasonable price (6 sample tins + shipping + free sample = $18.75 for 65 cups of really delicious tea)!

Did I mention the hand written note in the box with the tea, thanking me for my order? Or the fact that the tea arrived 2 days from when I ordered it? Couldn’t ask for better service, packaging, quality, or speed in delivery. If you love tea, definitely try this company.

And lest I forget, a warm thank you to Trouble Again and the others who recommended this company. I’ve sent several of my friends the $5 gift certificate that you can send each time you order, to share the joy. Whoo hoo! I’m not normally this gushy, but hey, these days I’m trying to enjoy the simple pleasures, and this is certainly one of them…

No, I’m not on the Adagio payroll either… I swear!

Funny you should post this: I just got my ingenuiTEA teapot and tea sampler from Adagio last night. I followed the same link from the same thread. Great tea so far although I’ve only tried one type and it’s really a nifty little tea maker. But I didn’t get a hand-written note. :frowning: (although I did get a little soft classical music sampler to, I guess, relax me whilst I slowly sip my tea…)

I didn’t end up liking the pumpkin spice, which shocks the hell outta me considering my normal tastes. But I can heartily recommend the cinnamon and the coconut flavors. Um, not together, though.

Huh. Is that the place that was recommended for its cream tea other something?

I didn’t know what cream tea was until I bought it. It ended up being kind of a caramel-ly sort of taste. It’s good, though not as good as the cinnamon and coconut teas, to my tastebuds.

What’s most intriguing is the custom blends. They’ll mix teas to your specifications, and that’s just neat.

I’ve been a fan for more than a year now. They’re a great company and a nice surprise to those that only find Lipton teabags or such at grocery stores.

OK, I’m now officially OD-ing on tea as I’ve had seven cups in six hours. (and I hadnine cups yesterday. ) Damn you, delicious Adagio tea. Especially the incredibly seductive genmai! I actually dreamed about tea last night…

I just tried the cream tea this morning and it was OK, but it didn’t rock my world. The ones I’ve liked best so far was the Dragonwell Requiem, and Pu Erh Dante. I am also a big fan of green tea in general, but jasmine is my favorite. I dislike white tea, and fruit teas and flavored teas in general, but I do like herbals and rooibos.

Does anyone have any hot recommendations for teas I should try in my next batch of sample? Clearly tremorviolet favors the genmai-- any others?
