I got spoiled when I lived in Lexington, with a great tea shop that had most of their offerings at $12-$16 per pound. Now that I’ve moved, I haven’t found a good replacement shop (they all either have a pitifully small collection at too high a price, or it’s teavana, which is fine tea, but crazy expensive)
Does anyone know a good, cheap website for buying tea? Or happen to know of a shop in the Dayton (or even cincy or Columbus) area?
It looks like Peet’s Coffee and Tea has a couple of locations in the general area. Have you ever tried them?
I usually buy from Adagio. Prices are in the $20-$30/lb ballpark for common varieties, but that’s at least not as bad as teavana.
I haven’t tried Peet’s yet - all the ones around here were Caribou last time I lived here, so I usually think of them as a coffee shop, I’ll have to check that out.
Adagio looks pretty good, certainly better prices than Teavana (their prices are downright scandalous). I also found Tea Guys online, which also has prices in that range. Anyone ordered from them?
