And yet that does not stop our resident terrorist supporters here on these boards from using this ISIL propaganda to support their cause.
ISIL relies on “home-grown” supporters to carry out their evil plans. And how to get those? Why just enlist the aid of those who would stigmatize, marginalize and seek to keep Muslim refugees out of the west. These kind of people are the best friends ISIL ever had. ISIL can point to these anti-Muslim folks and say “See, Muslims of the west? You are hated! You are marginalized! Your only hope is to join us and fight them.” This is how they gain converts in the west. And they can thank their nice supporters here for that.
Ok, adaher, say that, hypothetically, in the coming days we find that the story Euphonious Polemic cited is completely true: no refugees were involved, and ISIS clearly faked the passports of refugees in order to elicit fear of refugees in Western countries. Would this finding have any impact on your analysis here?
Okay, so if they are targeted at the camps, that means the camps consist of extremists, who weren’t afraid to register as refugees. Let’s let them in, while effectively excluding Christians. Brilliant policy, Mr. President!
If there is a real effect here, I would certainly be open to trying to seek out Syrian Christians and resettle them here. I would not be open to only opening our borders to Syrian Christians. I can’t imagine why you think I would be.
That makes no goddamn sense, and I’m starting to think Muslim equals extremist in your mind.
Interestingly, actually not much, the tale of the terrorist Muslim that repented because he saw the Christians helping selflessly in a refugee camp does sound like a tale Jack Chick would come up with.
Which is probably a good argument for having them to America, instead of Europe. I really, really, really don’t want European countries to lose their ethnic, cultural and religious identity, but America has always been an immigrant nation and we don’t really have a native ethnic/religious/cultural identity to lose.
Some of the eastern European countries, for what it’s worth, have said they are only taking Christians, which is probably what I would do if I was running Poland, but I’m not Polish, I’m American. I’m not really in favour of cultural diversity or mass immigration in general (to say the least) but I’d rather the Syrians come here than to Europe.
None of those stories are about assassination squads or killings in the refugee camps.
And there’s no proof the numbers of hidden ISIS fighters is accurate or anything more than a tactic to cause fear. A good one, too. Because it’s working.
