Agreed, but I think Elendil’s Heir is slightly misremembering the scene.
Sandler is talking to Carl Weathers, who is trying to convince him to play golf. The kid is watching from the side and is not part of the conversation. Only after Sandler walks away, does the kid get serious screentime, because he tries to imitate Sandler and gets totally plunked.
