**swampy **- we’ve been to the Longhorn’s in Waldorf and it wasn’t bad. This new one has been open a couple of weeks and we wanted to check it out. Maybe when the novelty wears off…

Ah.
Deviled eggs.
A Southern friend of Yankee Mrs. Plant v.2.0 told her that we were Living in Sin if she did not have a deviled egg plate.

VWife and I went there (new one) last week. Had a waitress that phrased all her questions around “we”, such as “Are we having an appetizer?” Finally it got to me, so I asked her, “What’s this ‘we’ shit, white woman?”

She was a good waitress beside that, so she got a big tip anyway. Pricey did-din…

Left overs, roast, the traditional accoutrements and ribs for dinner.
I rubbed Mrs. Plant v.3.0’s back until she went to sleep so that she may get up at an unG-dly hour to toil in her Dark, Satanic Mill.

Speaking of Satanic, Swampy, eggs are not ovaries, they are made or grown, or maybe they are all there to start with…Rosie or your physician can explain it much better than I, but eggs come out of ovaries, ovaries are not eggs.

I am reading The Great Mortality, the plague in Europe in the 14th century, when most folks understood biology like Swampy. Horrible things done to Jews, because they bathed and didn’t have rats and survived the plague better than other Europeans. No wonder Mrs. Plant v.2.0 hates Christians so much.

But I digress.

I’ve been addicted to Mexican food the last few weeks! Yummers

I just started catching up on season 8 of Canada’s Worst Driver and have decided that I’m really not such a terrible driver after all. This Kevin guy with the glass eye is absolutely terrifying. I’m surprised anybody ever gets nominated for this show because if my friend or family member drove like these people do, I wouldn’t ever be in the passenger seat long enough to get the nominating footage.

So swampy really made satanic ova, which may or may not b considered horse ovaries, aka hors d’ouevres.

picks up atlas, wonders if a side-trip from Canada to Jawja is possible…

It’s Caturday and I have already been up for a while, not that I’ve actually achieved anything apart from drinking two cups of tea. Last night I watched “Looper” and manage to stay awake all the way to the end, wasn’t mightily impressed with it but it was entertaining enough.

Today I am off to town to do the usual errands and then I’m getting my hair cut by the lovely Phil. And he is quite lovely, cheeky little chappie who used to work on cruiseliners. Not sure what’s for dindins tonight, yesterday I made chilli but I put the leftovers in the freezer for another day so tonight could be just about anything.

I have a lot of veg in the fridge though, I am thinking spicy parsnip soup may be the Next Big Thing in my kitchen. Tomorrow I’m off to see my doting parent as I’ve not been over there since hexmas, I had planned to go earlier this month but we had so much of that white stuff on the ground, I couldn’t even get the car out onto the road. It’s veritably spring-like out there now so off to Chez Maman I will go.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis a chilly 27 Amurrkin out with frost even. The predicted high is 60. A loverly day to prep a turkey dindin with all the trimmin’s.

BooFae I am intrigued by spicy parsnip soup. We happen to like parsnips though for some reason they can be kinda hard to find down heah. Recipe please!

flytrap a satanic ova (happy now?) plate is a must in all southern USofA households. One should also have one of those Tupperware[sup]TM[/sup] satanic ova thingys for transport as well. I have one satanic ova plate that belonged to my grandmother. It’s white milk glass with gold trim around the edges which are scalloped. It’s small and only holds a dozen satanic ova but tres chic!

In other news, Happy Sausage Day! Brekkie shall include sausage in honor of the day.

Now I need more caffiene and should consider said brekkie as rumbly tummy is makin’ noises.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Good morning! I had a slightly weird melatonin night, but most of it was spent asleep, so that was good. My dreams were a mish-mash of my former place of employment trying to get me to come out of retirement, a boy scout coming to our house on the lake in Florida trying to sell us stuff - we gave him $40 to go away - then something taking place at the in-laws’ house, then another vignette involving two of my former coworkers (who married each other) being almost nekkid in our house - I never could figure out if they wanted us all nekkid in a pile or if the guy was trying to seduce me or what the heck was going on. I was awakened by a psycho pup bounding on the bed trying to eat my hands. Thus beginneth my day.

**FCD **and daughter are headed to Fairfax to get the Fatboy. But first, we’re all going to Bert’s for breakfast. Then I’m going to do laundry and finish painting trim pieces. If I feel really ambitious, I’ll start touching up the white trim that got red paint upon it, or I may save that treat for tomorrow. I’d like to get our taxes done this weekend also.

It’s in the upper teens here, but at least the wind has died down. We’ve got a fire going in the basement so I can paint there without the paint freezing. It’ll also help keep the house warm.

**BBBobbio **- I hate the “we” stuff from people, whether servers, medical folks, or whatever. Regarding servers, the only thing I hate more is when they sit at your table to take orders. WTF???

Daughter will be here in half an hour or so, then we go eat.

Happy Sausage Day!!! Phil says spring is nigh!!

Oooooh, oooohh, ooohhh! I forgot it was Sausage Day and still celebrated appropriately. Go me!

Valentine lists are sent. (Easy math this year.) Yay!

Forgot to say earlier: cute dress, Sticky!

Glad everyone seems to have made it through the weather OK.

Should do something productive now.

Hugs.

Up and caffeinated, getting ready for irk. I suddenly crave a Deviled Aig.

FCM, I hope Phil is right. It was so cold at the tailgate last night, someone spilled beer, and it froze on the table.
BBBobbio, maybe your server was Euro royalty. “We are not amused!”
: Snoopy Dances at gt sighting :

Just about time to go see Scott :frowning:

Have I mentioned that I. HATE. SNOW. ?

N/M. Stoooopid phone.

Home from breakfast, first load of laundry is in the machine, and I just finished emailing a copy of FCD’s insurance card to the Harley dealer since he forgot all his paperwork. I also refilled the pellet stove and restoked the fire downstairs.

I’m going to finish caffeinating (Bert’s has Pepsi products, which I don’t like, so I’m diet-Coking) then I’ll make my way downstairs to paint.

Daughter is looking for a teaching job in FL - she’s figured out that she can’t save any money in her apt here. Duh! If she’d stayed living with us for another year, she could have had enough saved for a downpayment on a house… Instead, she’s spending half her income on rent, subsidizing a no-load boyfriend. That’s one good thing about going back to Orlando and living with her old friend - she’ll be away from no-load.

That’s all the excitement here…

Sorry, BBBobbio

Ground hawg, cheese grits, toast and for me scrambled aigs and for OYKW satanic ova for brekkies. Yes, he did eat all six of ‘em. ‘Twas a nummy repast. Food seems to be the theme of the day here at da cave. I have chikin boobs marinatin’ to grill for dindin and am preppin’ for tomorrow’s bday celebration.

Remember those weird things servers do are because some PTB has decreed that this will make customers happy. The folks who have to do it hate it as much as we do I’m sure.

BooFae - are you crossing the pond again? Is NYC in your itinerary?

Didn’t get up until almost 11
lazy sloth that I am.

blurf!

breakfast will be soup, or what passes for soup in that all I have to do is add hot water to a cup
lunch will be the crab meat stuffed pretzel I bought yesterday
dindin will be whatever because I can’t think that far ahead

glad I don’t have to go out today, I almost fell on my ass yesterday, the sidewalk looked

ugh bluff headache sore throat and chills again

poor **sari **- last week’s sick still hanging on? :frowning:

I’ve got the towels in the dryer, jeans in the washer, and the first coat of paint on one piece of trim and the last coat on another. Feeling decidedly lazy here. I should really take the dishes off the counter and load them in the dishwasher…
