Adjusting audio output channels in Flash videos

I’ve been using Youtube for audio lately (most recently the nifty soundtrack to the apparently okay Mirror’s Edge), but they only seem to use the standard left/right audio channels. (Rear left/right are connected to my TV for video viewing, and I’ve recently plugged in a sub; neither have any activity during flash videos).

This is the same whether I use Firefox or IE. All other audio (including .wav and .mid through my browsers) works fine.

Any suggestions?

The only thing that could spoil it is if someone has had my problem, cared about it, and fixed it. Seems unlikely, but regulations require one bump before vanishing in to oblivion can be confirmed by the judges.
