No audio on Youtube

I finally got around to getting a Dsl line installed. Went on to Youtube for some music videos but no audio? Seems to work fine on other sites. Anybody care to guess what Im doing wrong?

I posted a thread like this in Cafe three weeks ago. Turns out the youtube volume was turned all the way down. When that happens it “mutes” the sound. Still a mystery how that vol control got that way. I never, ever touch it. I always use my pc volume. But, it happened and had me running in circles for about 30 minutes.

Youtube’s own help page on that issue. Can you hear audio in other Adobe Flash sites?

This happened to me just this morning.

The problem was the volume control on the YouTube player itself (which I definitely hadn’t adjusted). Note that the YouTube help page concerning audio problems states that the volume adjustment is located at the lower right of the player. Not for me. It was at the left, immediately beside the play button.

Thank you for all your help.

also sometime when a copyright claim is made, the music is removed while the video remains. really sucks, half my favs are taken away by copyright claims

It used to be on the right, and still is on some older videos. They apparently haven’t updated their help files since they instituted the scroller that hides itself.

My friend recently had this problem. He was running a very old version of Flash, and apparently YouTube silently stopped supporting it, which caused all videos to become mute. Upgrading to the latest version of Flash fixed the problem.
