Recently, I installed Pixela and its accompanying programs which came with my digital camera. After that, PhotoDeluxe would bring up an error message ‘The browser application could not be started. Please verify that it is installed correctly.’
I deleted Pixela, uninstalled and reinstalled Photodeluxe, and I am still getting the same error message. I also cleaned off superfluous crud from my hard drive, not that it made a difference. I went to the user to user forum at Adobe, but no one there seems to have a solution, so I am hoping that someone here has run into, and fixed, this problem before I have to plunk down the cash to get an Adobe tech to tell me I’m a dork, and all I need to do is some simple little thing (I hope).
Oh, and I’m running Windows 98 and Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2.0.
Please help, as soon as you can.
Thanks, in advance!
Delete PhotoDeluxe again. Then delete everything in your registry which points to it or Pixela. You may be able to simply run a good registry cleaner, but you can use regedit. Reinstall Photodeluxe.
Well, I’ve tried deleting all things Pixela, all things PhotoDeluxe, then ran Norton cleansweep, then restarted, then reinstalled…and I just got the error message a little quicker and in a different font this time. It makes no freakin’ sense.
Still looking to solve this problem…beyond throwing the whole damn thing out the window (environmentally unfriendly as that is).
Something isn’t being deleted. I still suspect that it is a registry key, but after you delete the programs and all related registry keys go back and delete the folders the programs were installed in. Then reinstall Windoze, make sure you have all the upgrades and try PhotoDeluxe again. If that doesn’t do it, it’s time to either call tech support, reformat the drive, or send it to me and I’ll get it going.
tcburnett, yeah & after that get a new computer & reinstall everything
Tortuga, whenever you get a message of ANY kind on your computer, search the net for it, youll
have an answer, save this website: http://www.google.com/
Put that message you got in the box there. Hit return & ck the urls e.g.
" When you start, open an image gallery in, or scan in Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition 2.0 or greater or Business Edition, it returns one or more of the following errors:“The browser application could not be started, please verify that it was installed correctly.”
Solution
Disable all versions of EasyPhoto, and then uninstall and reinstall PhotoDeluxe:
Note: You will need to re-create your EasyPhoto galleries afterward. Also, if you have an EasyPhoto Image Wave scanner, disabling EasyPhoto may disable the scanner.
- Choose Start > Find > Files or Folders, and search for the following files on all hard disks. Rename all copies (e.g., to Filename.old) by right-clicking on the filename and choosing Rename:
- Ezphoto.ini
- Ezphoto.exe
- Ezimg25.dll
- Cppenv25.dll
- Choose File > Close.
- Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs, select Adobe PhotoDeluxe, and then click Add/Remove and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Reinstall PhotoDeluxe.
