After 6pm I'm a free man! ( yippee.)

My plans as of 9am: work until 6pm; run home, throw dinner in the oven; take the dog for a walk, get back in time to receive delivery of my four-year-old; eat snacks; watch some TV; eat dinner ( maybe in front of TV or video games!); play with some of the toys, games, or puzzles we got for Christmas; brush teeth, wash face, use the toilet etc.; read some Harry Potter ( yes, we are still reading the chamber of secrets); tell a briar rabbit/briar fox story and sing a song in bed; go to my room and read my book ( Flatland: a romance of many dimensions) until pretty confident that HalFSwordS is sleeping; turn on the TV real quiet like and watch lame New Year’s eve TV until the ball drops ( 11pm CST); crawl into bed and get a good night’s sleep. Thursday was to be a normal, if slow day at work. Friday, my dad and his girlfriend come into town and Saturday we have a combination Christmas and Birthday party ( HalFSwordS has a birthday early in January) then go to the zoo or the pool or something. Sunday, Dad and his SO drop by to see where I work before they head back home.
My plans as of 10am: work until 6pm.

Turns out HalFSwordS Mom, because there was no daycare today or tomorrow, decided to go to Grandma’s house ( about 45 minutes away) and not come back until Saturday night for a B-day dinner. Since I wouldn’t normally have him Saturday night, she’s going back to G-ma’s. I recently had a car accident and, while my car is driveable, I haven’t gotten an alignment yet and it’s not recommened for highway travel. Of course, Dad and his SO don’t want to come to town if they can’t see him…

Everyone I know has plans or has to work all night. I don’t really feel like going to a bar alone. I was feeling old and lame before… Sitting at home New Year’s eve with a Border Collie mix, wishing I had a four year old to play Scooby-Doo dominoes with… now that’s lame!

You aren’t alone in your lameness…don’t worry…the others will come… (it’s early yet!).

Yeah, I’ve already got an invite to a small gathering with hurricane’s and video games 'til midnight. I might go get a bottle of the mid priced bubbly to bring along. I’m still a little pissed about the sudden change of plans… I think it was a passive aggresive kind of move since I didn’t have any money to lend for gas, but I’m not the one who decided to drive out into the country! Anyway, hope everyone finds something fantastic in the New Year.

Well at least you have a fun place to go…not so lame! Go you! Happy New Year!

And Flatland is always good company, and will give you silly things to tell your 4 year old!

Well, I had to stay late at work so I can say my plans were soundly disrupted.

And yes merrily Flatland has been good to me so far.

AWWWWWW SixSwordS, if you didn’t live so far away I’d expect you to be here, because I would have invited you for a lil NYE celebration.

((((( SixSwordS )))))), I will be thinking about you at midnight.
