It’s a beautiful, sunny Sunday morning in Chicago. I balanced my checkbook and I’ll do a little housework before I go to an Art and Craft Show at Arlington Park Racetrack. http://www.arlingtonpark.com/
Shoo-whee! Over 200 fine artists hawking their wares! I can hardly wait! I’m hoping to do lunch, too.
Hike at the local cliffs (a rockey beach near where I live) Lunch with the Mrs, then I’ll top it all off with my new book (Michael Pollan’s Omnivores Dilema) whilst I sit on our porch with a huge glass of tea… It’s beautiful on the East Coast too!
We’ll make a trip to Sam’s Club, then to the grocery store. After that, I’ll finish the front yard. My wife will go to the gym. This evening, my boss (and best friend) will take me to the radio station so I can do my weekly announcing duties - record and edit announcements, and put them in the automation computers.
I should have done them on Thursday, but a tooth that should have had a root canal the last time I was at the dentist, decided to get infected on Wednesday, and the right side of my face ballooned up. It sounded like I had a speech impediment. Thanks to antibiotics, it’s much smaller now, and I think I can do each spot in fewer than a hundred takes.
Eeeew. Glad you’re feeling better. Kid Kalhoun had an extraction done last week and the root of the tooth had grown into his sinus cavity, requiring stitches to close the hole. He felt like shit for a couple days.
I need to continue to install the casing for the windows in my addition. I’m in the process of getting drywall bids. I am NOT going to do the drywall myself, it’s just too much.
I may do some food shopping in town. And I may make dinner. Not sure, I made a stir fry yesterday and we have leftovers.
My Wife is taking the dogs for a cross-country ski. I need to also work with training the dogs better.
I made scrambled eggs for my 19-year-old son and his girlfriend, who spent the night. (She’s a gorgeous blonde, and very sweet. The kid is doing well for himself.) Next I’m going to fold the laundry I washed yesterday, then go to visit my mother, who’s in the hospital because she slipped on ice and broke her wrist. Then I’m coming home to send some emails to my Boy Scout Troop.
This evening at 9:00 p.m. I’m watching Rome. Tonight Octavian, who’s not yet assumed the name of Augustus, is trying to impose a morality code on Rome. Good luck to him. I can’t wait till Livia makes an appearance. Although I pity the actress who has to play her. Can you imagine trying to fill Sian Phillips’s shoes?
Well I’ve had my breakast, read the paper, watched Chelsea scrape a draw (3-3) with Spurs and now I’ve got my pre-match warm up of a few games of hearts and a mooch around the SDMB before Manchester City take on Blackburn in the FA Cup 6th round.
please God help Manchester City to win, you know it makes sense…thank you
I have been to the grocery store (though, since I was on autopilot when I headed out, I didn’t go to the one next to the dollar store, so I’m going to have to do a dollar store run some night on my way home from work), and started sorting out the stack of unopened mail; will finish that project and vacuum. I might work on my patchwork bolster and watch Madagascar, which is due back at the library tomorrow, or I might read for a while. Or both. Or neither.
I’m pretty sure there’s gonna be a nap at some point though.
We’re about to head over to the new taqueria in town for breakfast.
Then to a furniture store to buy a new coffee table and new end tables. To Home Depot to buy some bark chips for our front yard, to one of the local gourmet shops for some grilling goodies and snacks, then back home to grill. We’re expecting 4 or 5 friends later this afternoon, so it should be a fun day.
I need to put out breakfast for the cats, then shower and shave. The grocery list is by the phone, so then it will be off to Target, Barnes & Noble, and finally the grocery store. Then after everything is put away, I’ll crack a beer and waste the rest of the lovely day on the Dope, probably.
I’m hoping to do much of the following: go grocery shopping, do my laundry, pay some bills, balance my checking, and go see 300. But if I can only do one of these things, you can probably guess which it will be.
I’m going to clean my apartment (which desperately needs it), put away all the laundry I did last weekend, make a batch of short ribs in the Crock-Pot, and put together my final batch of paperwork to get reimbursed from the flexible spending account at my old job for my new glasses and a couple of other small things.
Hopefully a bike ride will get squeezed in there somewhere - it looks gorgeous outside!
I slept in late today to make up for no sleep Friday night. I think I’m gonna knock out some of the dishes my roommate left in the sink because they are annoying me. Then I’m gonna hit the library for fun later (recently got fired/quit from my part time job) because it’s freeee. Then I’ll probably spend most of the day reading, and maybe a bit of studying.
I’ve already cleaned the living room, have one load of laundry in the dryer, and another one clean and ready to go in. I’ve had breakfast, but, even though it’s past noon, I haven’t showered yet. Still have to finish the laundry, go to the post office for stamps, go to the grocery store for a few things, including a Sunday paper. I’ll finish up the dishes at some point, and whip up dinner for me and the kids. Mr. new is usually home on Sundays, but he had to leave this morning to finish a side-job he’s on. I’m hoping to squeeze in a nap, too, but we’ll have to see.
I’m going to wash my car and clean out the inside. I need to do laundry. I can’t really go anywhere fun because I have to pick my son up from a birthday party at 3 p.m. Maybe I can at least get out for a walk.
I’ll probably work on some more jewelry pieces. Need to hit the grocery, because we are definitely going to grill tonight for dinner.
Me too. I overslept (party last night and the time change has me all discombobulated) and I’m groggy and mildly out-of sorts. I need to drive my kid to work at 2:00, but other than that I plan to spend the rest of the day in the studio working on stuff.
