Again with the annoying commercials!

I just saw this on TV. Apparently it’s real but at first I thought it was a joke.

Trumpy Bear:

IIRC, that’s the way they filmed CHiPs (the old show, not the recent movie)

Anyway, do radio commercials count? I hate the one with a bunch of people shilling some shaving product then ending with them (badly) singing “Best Shave Ever!” Like 5-6 people in a row poorly singing the same line over and over, you can’t get more annoying…

Speaking of radio commercials, did anyone in this long thread mention the horrible “1-877-Kars-4-Kids” commercial? I think it’s now a TV ad, but I think it started as a radio commercial. I’ll do you the favor of not linking to it.

The Chobani commercial with the child singing can go away now. Something about the pitch is like nails on a chalkboard.

I’m not 100% sure, but I’m almost totally positive that’s the same stretch of highway where they filmed the opening to La La Land - the scene with Ryan Gosling stuck in a nonstop traffic jam and then everyone in every car got out to dance on the highway.

Either it’s an easy place to shut traffic down to film on, or it’s not actually open to traffic at all.

The thing that totally creeps me out is that the guy singing sounds so much like Johnny Cash! What did they do, dig him up?

And that FIOS kid I hate has more commercials.

The “Trumpy Bear” is a real item, but the commercial seems incredibly satirical.

Reba McEntire as Colonel Sanders quickly became a channel changer for me. Creepy and weird. Reba always seemed like a nice person and talented, if that’s your bag, but now she’s just another celebrity with no integrity.

The zombie Colonel was bad enough.

I’ll disagree with you on that one.

I like the Colonel masquerading as Reba. Remember, all these actors are all supposed to be the same person, Col Sanders. They aren’t fakes, as it were. It’s funny, at least to me.

But I like KFC, and I’d still eat there with pretty much any spokesman short of Charles Manson or Donny trump.

Those Chevy commercials with “real people, not actors” really grate on me. If there was ever a chance that I would step into a Chevy dealership, it is now gone.

I dunno, I like how they amazed they are when they learn that Chevy has won all these awards… “most reliable car, really??.. you expect me to believe that’s a Chevy?”

Not specifically about those Chevy commercials, but I like how many auto commercials make selective comparisons. “Our car has more rear-seat legroom than the BMW XYZ, better acceleration than the Audi ?? and better gas mileage than the Lexus ABC.”

Yeah, just like GM’s great Buick ads that tout how the new one doesn’t look like a Buick. That’s a Buick? Hey, it’s actually an attractive car!!

Thank you. Yes, it used to be on the radio. i haven’t seen it on TV (fortunately).

WOW the BMW XYZ must really suck then. Recent Chevys are crap for leg room. Even in the front!

That’s a real commercial for a real product? It seems so much like something whipped up on SNL. And $40? Bears that size are selling at Walmart for $9.98. Plus, apparently people want them so bad they are reselling for a couple hundred dollars. No way.

People is weird.

Wells Fargo has an ad they run on YouTube called “Ink”, which features a waiter talking to the camera. The gag has him showing the bill for the table he’s waiting, ostensibly to wow his customers with a sketch he did. If you look at the bit, the total is $181 plus $17.29 tax for a grand total of $198.20.

The thing is, the items on the bill only add up to $152.50.

“Wells Fargo: We’re not good at math; let us hold your money.”

Bah. Typos. Here’s a screenshot of the bill.

Subtotal - $181.00
Tax - $17.20
Total = $198.20

Actual tally of items on the bill = $152.50, not $181.00

So, I guess Sonic is replacing the moronic guys with less moronic women. Certainly seems to be an improvement.

For that matter, do radio PSAs count? Then I’d nominate the “Food for Orphans” have to rank as the most depressing thing ever. You hear stories of abandoned kids searching garbage dumps for mere pennies, and how they were abandoned by their families and their life is nonstop suffering. Worse yet, if you listen to late night or weekend radio, their commercials are on seemingly every commercial break.
