Well tonight is the last episode. I really hate it that I was so late to the party. What a good show! I don’t know how to interpret the viewing numbers to know if they’re good or bad; but it seems like viewership is dropping off. Plus no one bothered to open an episode 7 thread; so there’s only limited interest here on the SDMB as well. Very sad :frowning: as this is a series I’m definitely hooked on, and would continue watching it for future seasons.

So tonight’s episode… How far will Carter get to catching the Russian Dr. Ray Krzeminski and Dottie Underwood, the crazy Russian blonde (is that redundant) ?

I loved Dooley’s exit on the last show, although he’ll always be Eli (from Boardwalk Empire) to me.

Before I knew this only an 8 run show; I was hoping that Carter would be able to get Angie Martinelli a real acting job after her performance at The Griffith.

Is there any chance this will be renewed? Was it planned for an 8 episode only run?

It started off slow. So you’d didn’t miss all that much by missing the first three or four episodes.

Its 2 hours tonight?

It was planned as an episode miniseries, so tonight should be pretty final/no cliffhangers. Especially if you’ve seen the Agent Carter One-Shot. I’ve read they’re discussing another series next year though.

In terms of last weeks episode - so they’ve pretty much revealed the Finow mystery. Stark was working on a gas that, intentionally or accidently, made people murderously insane. The Army tested it at Finow. When Stark saw the results, he refused to continue working on it or even give the formula to the Army, and punched out a general. But the Russians found out about it too, and the whole season has been the Leviathan plot to get a hold of the gas.

Really liked the interrogation bit, when Carter threw everything back in their faces - she showed she’s far tougher than any of them. And I could listen to Hayley Atwell say “Daft whore” all day. The winter armor that gets so hot that it explodes was kind of silly though - wish they could have come up with something better for Dooley’s end, which was otherwise really good.

According to Wikipedia, 13 episodes were originally proposed, but were cut down to the current eight when it was decided that it would be a mid-season fill-in for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Apparently there is a possiblity of a second season, but nothing has been decided yet. I’d say chances are low, as the ratings have been declining pretty steadily week to week.

Too bad; I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the series and would be happy with more.

No, just one hour.

When I saw this scene, I thought - “I bet the showrunners are pissed that Kingsman: The Secret Service had a nearly identical bad-guy weapon & theirs came out first!”

I was actually sad to see Dooley go (especially with a semi-screwball setup!), tho at least he got to be noble at at the end.

I still want to know how the knockout lipstick doesn’t affect the wearer; I thought maybe Peggy had built up an immunity, but then Dottie smears it on, no problem!

Very curious to see how they wrap everything up in this final episode & hope they have ideas for a second mini-season!

They could possibly keep the characters around for flashback material in Agents of SHIELD episodes.

There will be a Second season if Marvel can figure out a way to tie it to whatever movies are being released in 2016. So CA: CW and Doctor Strange. Civil Wars is an easy fit, so I’d lay money on Atwell being back next year.

For what it’s worth, TV Guide is describing tonight’s episode as “the Season 1 finale.”

If only one hour, why two titles?

The thread has two episode titles because there was no thread for last week’s episode (“SNAFU”). This week’s episode is “Valediction”.

I have to say, the ending kicker was the best part. The rest of the episode wasn’t quite as fun as some of the earlier ones, although there were quite a few good moments.

Nice teaser at the end. Clearly there’s room to continue in another mini-series if it’s picked up.

I really enjoyed the show but I am looking forward to seeing where S.H.I.E.L.D. is going next week.

OK, please clue me in. Who was the Truman Capote looking guy in the cell with the Russian guy?

Arnim Zola, the scientist who developed all the Tesseract powered weapons in the first Captain America movie, and who was revealed in the second CA movie to have worked for Hydra while being a SHIELD scientist for 30 years after the war.

BTW, did anyone notice Skye’s speech in the commercial for Agents of SHIELD that aired right after the episode? “There’s something inside of me. Something… Inhuman.”

Funny you should mention that

I had the exact same reaction.

Absolutely. I just hope she doesn’t develop prehensile hair.

The previews with everything shaking around Skye and the ground cracking have pretty much spoiled her powers and which comics SHIELD agent she is (albeit, an Inhuman in this continuity instead of a mutant as in comics continuity).
