Agents of SHIELD: S4 E3 "Let Me Stand Next to your Fire" 10/18/2016

Lola vs Ghost Rider!

Simmons and Daisy make a pretty decent team, but Daisy is such a putz. She’s really dragging the show down. Uncle Eli seems like a fairly interesting character. I have to think May would have figured out something odd about Aida, but she may be still slightly dead. Ah, the old “park the cloaked Quinjet in the Los Angeles River basin.”

Coulson is a trusting soul. Bad special effects with the zombie mind meld. Aida looks like she’s developing a sense of self. Fuse is a self-loathing Inhuman? That really doesn’t make sense. Nice entrance by Ghost Rider. Bye Fuse. Where are the Watchdogs through all this?

No words spoken between Coulson, Mack, and Daisy? OK, we’re past that. On to the Darkhold.

“I’m not mad, I’m a scientist”
“In my experience, Gods tend to turn out to be aliens.”
“Well, most of me is Chinese…”
“I was going to say the same thing, but without the accent”
“Did two fire dudes just drop into a warehouse of fireworks?” “You had to see that coming.”
“Dying takes a lot out of you.” “So I’ve heard. We should form a club, make up t-shirts.”

Preempted by the Wisconsin Senate debate here. It is an important election, but as a MN resident I wasn’t going to watch.

I like how both May and Coulson had RadFitz concerned that they’d figured out Aida is a robot but are relieved to find out that they don’t suspect a thing. Then Simmons comes along and Fitz thinks at first that she’s worried Fitz is attracted to Aida because she’s beautiful when it turns out that she spotted the robot right away and realizes that no one else knows.

Simmons was awesome in this episode.

Probably the funniest episode so far this season, but I think last week’s overall was “better”.

I definitely marked out a bit when Ghost Rider grabbed his chain. Even if it’s not the Rider I grew up with, I wouldn’t hate to see him more and more. I even think the actor playing him does a good job.

When Fireboy was giving his speech about killing all inhumans to Daisy and Simmons I kept yelling “Shoot her! Shoot her in the face! Shoot her now! Now!!”

I swear, bad guys are the worst at being bad guys.

So last season, Daisy was having no problem using her powers, without those armbands Simmons made for her. This season apparently every time she does another bone breaks. Have they explained that at all?

She’s not wearing the arm thingies because they’re too conspicuous when she’s trying to work as a secret vigilante. Also, I think she’s trying to punish herself for the whole Hive Addiction/Lincoln dying thing.

I think it’s supposed to be a cumulative effect - she *thought *she was using her powers without a problem, but she was actually causing herself damage all along. Now her bones are so fragile that any use pushes them over the edge.

Right, but I’m saying she stopped using them a while ago, but the broken bones have only become a problem recently.

That makes sense.

Not to mention, Robbie/Ghost Rider broke her arm a couple episodes ago in that first fight they had. Smashed with a pipe, I believe. So I’m sure she’s still feeling that every time you uses her powers.

I think it was explained poorly, but what he really wants is to be in control. He went from the Inhumans refusing to give him powers to getting powers but immediately mind controlled to being tracked 24/7 by SHIELD.

I wish there were more Inhumans controlled by Hive, so we could see the after effects of that wearing off.

Agent Coulson is so much more fun than Director Coulson.
