Diana. But yeah.
Although IF Fitz is dead, it’s certainly possible she wiped that memory along with important stuff worth programming Enoch to kill for.

Huh. Now I’m wondering if that name is a Serenity reference.
I think you’re thinking of, “Miranda”.
Ah, damn. You’re right. I should hand in my brown coat.
Simon: “Am I talking to Miranda now?”
River: Expression of supreme exasperation at how much of a doof her brother is…
…AND now I have a sad. Imagine six seasons AND a movie.
Anyway, I liked this week’s episode a lot more than others did. Bill Paxton’s son didn’t remind me a lot of him, but when he gave his evil smile, he had all of Bill’s teeth and I had Chet from Weird Science flashbacks.
Hope they can give us a decent ending, - though, with just a couple episodes left and the prophesied breakup of the band, there may be more bitter than sweet.
Nathanial at the end implied that Fitz is still alive since the Chronicons are trying to stop him. So if it isn’t Fitz dying, what was Jemma so distraught about?
Maybe Fitz got killed but uploaded into a computer. Seems a theme this season!
Deke’s mom died as a baby?
OK, a return to form last night, I thought. Not sure why this episode hit harder than last week’s, but it did, despite Kora’s acting grating on me a bit. (a thankless role, to be sure, but still.) Loved Daisy calling Jemma her sister, loved Mack’s heart-to-hearts with both Daisy and Sousa. Loved the callbacks to Fitz’s anti-Gordon machine, and Ward and his victims, and the framework Ward. (I’ve been betting we get to see Ward again before all this is through, but now with one 2parter left, I think this nod is all we’ll get.
)
And of course… FITZ! (well, flashbacks to Fitz, but nevertheless, new (and old) footage with Iain in it, so I’m counting it.) Even though they haven’t “found” him yet, and this talk of “bloodwork” seems ominous, just seeing him again felt like the missing piece of the show was in place.
Next week looks like a fittingly exciting ending. My wife is on tenterhooks and made me slow-mo through the trailer looking for clues.
Not too much to be gleaned, only more questions.
So, time to place bets… who dies?
Presuming we get at least a bittersweet, if not outright happy, ending, we can presume Nathaniel will die, and probably Garrett with him, probably Sibyl, unless she pulls the “your logic is irrefutable, we will now live in peace” style turnaround and compromise, though I find that unlikely. Kora also likely, though will it be as a villain or we she turn on Nathaniel and kill him or be killed by him? We’re kinda of hoping Sibyl does the ol’ “thanks for helping us, mook. Now you’re not useful anymore… ZAP!” and Nathaniel dies unceremoniously that way.
Of course, there’s the possibility that they repair the whole timeline somehow or jump back to the original undisturbed one (leaving this one to the chronicoms?) in which case, Nathaniel, Kora, and Garrett all die as originally scheduled.
But someone from our team is dying too, no? Enoch said they’d survive, but who knows which future he’s seen.
Coulson, Fitz, May, and Deke have all died or apparently died before, in season or mid-season finales.
Any of them dying will likely feel like “what, again?” instead of having the desired impact.
Daisy or Sousa breaks up a couple they’ve been building up for a happily ever after. (it’s a Whedon-family show, so that could mean either they are safe or doomed.)
Mack or Yoyo also breaks up a couple. Mack’s already done the grieving thing for his parents. It would be redundant to fridge Yoyo for that. Maybe Mack dies? I’d be sad about that, but it would serve to break up the team…
Simmons … ?? man, I just want Fitz and Simmons to end up together. I think that’s pretty common. Ending with one of them dead would really sour things.
Maybe I’m being too morbid. Maybe after all the emotional wallops of 7 seasons, they all make it through unscathed… too much to hope for?
Honestly, they’re leaning so hard into the whole “I bet he’s dead” thing that it makes me think he’s alive, and there’s going to be some big twist.
I don’t know how they’re going to wrap this all up in two hours. Frankly, I’d be happy if they somehow defeat all the bad guys in the first 5 minutes and then the rest is just one long epilogue about what happens to all of them.
I had a thought, prompted by that last scene with “Fitz, who’s Fitz?”
Is it possible that Fitz has “died”, but uploaded his consciousness to Jemma? It would explain the horrified scream when the device was removed in the time loop episode and her memory loss now, with Fitz retreating deeper and wiping any traces within her conscious mind.
It also makes it easier to write a “Fitz saves the day” within what we would expect to be a packed finale.
Does anyone else feel that the “team won’t survive” means the members will be scattered into different time lines or different dates so that they all live but can never get back together?
I’m going to go with “bloodwork” shows Jemma is pregnant; she and Fitz stay in the future until baby is born, and Jemma doesn’t want to forget that she even has a baby, along with forgetting where Fitz is, so she’s very sad.
Don’t know exactly why she’s lost track of who Fitz is now.
Didn’t they say something about the deeper idiot boy* goes into her brain the more memories she’ll lose?
*Worst villain they’ve ever had, and that’s saying a lot.
The deeper he goes the further down Fitz will go to hide - which I guess means that Fitz is hidden deeply enough that Simmons can’t remember him for the moment.
OK, I finally caught up just in time for the finale. I had to watch all of season 6 and 7 in the past 3 weeks.
So, I’ve enjoyed Season 7 a lot so far. I’m not happy with time travel stories usually, and there are enough troubles with this one, but I’m willing to overlook it because they’re doing good things with the characters. Daisy still is annoying more often than not, and Mack is incredibly uneven as the director, but I can overlook that. I’ve loved Enoch and Souza, missed Fitz, and Deke is growing on me.
But the heart of the show is Coulson, Daisy, and May. They’ve had great storylines. I hope they resolve the LMD Coulson story, and Enoch’s dying speech hints at the direction they’re going. I felt that May coming back from the dead wasn’t needed, but her superpower was kind of cute. Daisy and Souza, I think, is a great pairing.
The biggest issues in Fitz/Simmons. I want a happy ending, and teasing Fitz being dead is misdirection, I’m sure. But I miss Fitz and seeing them together.
Looking forward to the finale.
Just a reminder the 2 hour finale tomorrow starts an hour earlier than normal (9, not 10 Eastern time), for anyone watching it live.
Predictions?
OK:
