Air Force One - The Movie

Why did Agent Gibbs (Xander Berkeley) join forces with Radek’s supporters? Did I miss the explaination, or was it just an assumed “he’s a bad guy” sort of thing?

I havent seen it for a while, but I take for granted you are talking about that secret service agent that went down with the plane? I think he was always along with them, just the inside guy… the guy that planted the weapons for the bad guys to pick up in the plane I guess.

Eric

It was just assumed he was the inside man. And the weapons weren’t planted; he merely gave them access.

It was never spelled out. I guess the choices are: A. he was doing it for the money. or B. he was incensed about Harrison’s switch in tactics at the meeting that opened the movie (which would give him a motive for wanting Harrison out of office and to help the bad guys). But of course, an operation like that would have taken a lot of time and planning, so, I guess I’d go with A.

The only thing that WAS said was : Harrison “I trusted you”

Bad guy replies “So will the next President” which to me infers that he believes he’ll still be a secret service guy, and not, say, the ambassador in waiting for the bad guys.

I got the feeling it was MONEY, he would’ve been on anyone’s side for the dough.

honestly, why would we be talking about a movie that really blew chunks? the movie was so hollywood that you really have to wonder why you asked this question.

Welcome to the Straight Dope, Asianmagik. I, uh, think you’re going to like it here.
