Had a chance to see Sealemon and Bubble Girl (née Shanin) today, down in Alvin, Texas. I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with them, but enough. I’m really glad they were able to make it.
After all, it was their wedding.
It got off to a bit of a late start, and seeing as I was both unfamiliar with the church complex and Sealemon and Bubble Girl are folks I’ve met through this board (so I didn’t know anyone else in attendance), I briefly entertained the thought that they were off getting married in some other part of the complex and I might be attending total strangers’ wedding (evil thoughts about the part were the minister says, “If any person has cause to say why this couple should not be married…”).
But it came together in Alvin time. Sealemon entered behind the Best Man, and Bubble Girl soon appeared as a beautiful bride (and she is, believe me). After the ceremony I spoke with her and gathered that Bubble Girl might have felt a little self-conscious about the apparent emotion in her voice as she spoke her vows. Well, dear, that’s exactly the kind of true grit you want in your wedding (IMHO). All fears of that being over-regarded were probably soon displaced by the Best Man bravely taking a full engagement pratfall (the bouncing bum) as he left the altar.
All in all a good wedding.
'Grats, y’all. And thank you for including me. I have a really good feeling about you two.
