Got it on reserve and Barnes and Noble. The only reason we got it there is because they’re having a midnight release party, and I thought it’d be fun for me and the girls.

My grocery store is running a promotion - for each trip I spend $50, I get a certificate. Get 6 certificates, get a free Harry Potter Order Of THe Phoenix book. I have three so far, and am planning on hitting the grocery store this afternoon. So spend $300 total, get a $17.99 book.
At least groceries are something I need.

Mail delivery. We (me, the Lovely and Talented Mrs. Shodan and the little Shodan-ettes) are going to read it aloud to each other for our family time on Sunday nights this summer.
I say Hagrid. And I am betting Harry and Ginny Weasley fall in love by series’ end.

It comes out the day after my birthday. Coincidentally, I’m taking the 10 days after that off from work. One of my friends wondered, seriously, if that’s why I was going on vacation. But it isn’t–no way is it going to take me 10 days to read!
But I’m psyched that I have the time off. That means I get to read it before my husband does.

I’ll be there midnight Friday night. And I’m making Mr. Oreo come with me, since I’m not brave enough to withstand any strange looks I might receive alone. I just wish we had a little niece or nephew to take along as a “disguise!”
Best part, though, has to do with my sister. She’s the one who first introduced me to the books, and is almost as big a fan as I am. However, she and her husband are currently trying to adopt a baby/going through in-vitro, therefore they are pinching every single little penny and simply don’t have the funds to buy the book. Sis keeps bemoaning the fact that she’s going to have to wait until I’ve finished the book so she can borrow my copy. And since I live out of town, she’ll have to wait that much longer before we can make the swap.
Little does she know I pre-ordered the book for her a couple of months ago. Should arrive on her doorstep sometime Saturday. I just wish I could be there to see the look on her face!

I was going to buy it the day it came out. A group of us (all in library school) are going to the party at Barnes & Noble the 20th for the release. But because of funding issues with summer financial aid, I won’t be able to purchase it until aroudn July 10th.
I do have a hold on a copy at the library, but I’m #84 on the list, so I’ll likely be able to buy it before I get it that way.
I have it on order from Amazon.
Assuming that my good friend Earl of the CC put in my pre-order, I’ll be spending midnight at Borders with him and some more of our friends. Yee-haw, it’s gonna rock.

I pre-ordered a game from themm, and it kept being “delayed.” When I e-mailed them, they told me the manufacturer had not released it yet. Furious, I went down to the store, bought a copy, and sent them another e-mail saying that I was cancelling the order, because I had just purchased the “unreleased” game elsewhere.
i hear harry gets into an orgy with ron and hermione…that or he finally gets it on with that cho chang chick. that harry…what will he get himself into next time?
