Alert when one of my posts gets quoted?

For the future, how about a Google alert? Set the search for something like ‘site:boards.straightdope.com “originally posted by wheelz”’ plus additional keywords.

That will find all posts that quote the user named, but the results will be ordered by arcane Google formulas, not by date or anything so straightforward.

Note that I said a Google alert, not a Google search.

Yesterday evening I came back to check this thread. At that time I created my own Google alert with the above search, with results emailed as they were found.

At 9:45 AM today I got an alert email with the following hits:
