Which is what he/she/it said they were. Case closed, sergeant.
Bear is a guy. It’s his actual name.
Thanks all. Maybe I should spring for the expansion pack?
Just as long as you don’t value your free time too highly:D
Phase i stuck the Guardian Angel on the communal mule. You’ll probably have to ask Chronos or Yeti to get it for you. I won’t be around this weekend, so at least this way you have a chance of getting it while i’m gone. For whoever gets it for him, it’s on Og_Hurl (last character slot on the commie mule).
In other news, the 4th computer is up and running smoothly, so i shoudl be able to run 4 clients next week. Hopefully next week i can schedule a mule run or two, since we’re way overdue.
Thanks, theckhd!
Hmmm, let’s see - it costs $10, gives you two new classes, an additional act on the game and one or two other funky options. Should you buy it or not…
Don’t walk. RUN.
Where can you find it for $10? At all of the Best Buy stores i’ve seen, it goes for $20.
And what I would consider even more relevant, it would let you play online with all the rest of us yahoos. The multiplayer gaming experience is totally different from the single-player, and if you have a good group of folks to play with, it’s all for the better.
On another note, I’ve been noticing a very interesting item… The Ribcracker quarterstaff. As itself, it’s a rather mediocre weapon, but when you upgrade it to a stalagmite, you get a huge jump in damage from an exceptional staff to an elite. In fact, a mid-range upgraded Ribcracker has a higher average damage than any of the unique mauls or IK Stonecrusher (assuming no other set items), and is under most circumstances (tested for barbarian and weredruid, for a few different skills) faster than them. Plus it only requires 63 strength, and has a lot of other great mods (+100% defense, faster hit recovery, crushing blow). I haven’t read up much on barbarian or druid guides, but does this weapon get the respect it deserves?
A big thanks to the guys who helped me get into A5 in about 5 minutes last night.
I am now in nm at about level 46 and it’s sooo easy. Yeti heard me bitching while I was in level ~12 about not being able to kill anything or even survive. I can now kill stuff and survive ok. Treehead Woodfist killed me a few times with one good smack, but beyond that I had no problems
Not remotely. Back when the whole “upgrade a normal to an exceptional and an exceptional to a unique” cube recipe was first spilled to the d2.net community, that was one that a few folks (who knew what they were talking about) were excited about. Otherwise, folks tend to think that “big tree on a stick” (a maul) is gonna be better than a lame-o staff. However, that staff is made to hit stuff just as hard as most other mauls.
I’d recommend to anyone who has D2 and enjoys it to buy the expansion. In addition to all the gear and such, I’ve found that online play (esp. with y’all) is vastly superior to singleplayer.
Awww…thanks Punha
Can anyone suggest a good bulid for a Druid WW? I’m looking to do Boss battles.
I’m back. I was going to suggest a mule rush, but we’d have to start it in the next 30 minutes… is anyone up for it? I’ll hop on bnet and see if anybody’s on.
You know, as interesting as that sounds, I might just have to look into equiping my bear with that when he gets up there!
I was just checking the trading forums and the value of a SOJ is down to IST??? Was there a duping outbreak or something?
Perhaps someone else had the same idea I had about a SoJ runner;)
Well, sort of. It’s due to excessive use of an Andy bot, which is basically our soj runner idea automated. Whether it’s actually true that there are suddenly more andy bot users, or whether people have just become more aware of it now, or whether the entire thing is just a scare and doesn’t actually reflect the rarity of sojs nowadays, is a question that nobody knows the answer to. But yes, sojs have dropped to around 1-1.3 ist.
Well thanks to LarzX, who I believe is Phase42 (sorry if I’m wrong), my necro’s magic find is somewhere in the 570’s. He gave me an Ali Baba which I double Ist’d.
Now to do some REAL magic finding…
I just went out and bought the Expansion. Woo hoo!!! 20 bucks on the 'ole Target card. I figure it will keep me in the house more often so I’ll save money in the long run. Can’t go to the clubs without spending like a hundred bucks, so this is cheaper ;D
Anyway, I wanted to play with you guys on Battlenet, but SDMB is a Hell level game. Do you guys ever host your own games? That would be fun because I could use the character I already have, my single player one. I hate starting new ones.
