All Diablo2 Talk here.........

Not bad, not bad, +32res. 3 points off perfect, near as I can tell.

I’m half tempted to start a sorceress just to wear it - I’m running a lvl 80 Holy Avenger as my main char.

S’pose I should get my buns over to the accountname thread, eh?

35 is the max spawn. I think we have a 32 or 33, but given the current state of our mules, you’d have to bring in about 10 accounts just to find out.

Sounds like a plan. We have a few chars who are decently equipped - a fair mix of casters and melee, but also a few still growing, so to speak. Tops are a lvl 91 sorc (mine) and a lvl 91 paladin (punoq’s) who may be 92 by now. Also at 90 is Yetigrrl and a few at lvl 89, including the communal sorc, the communal barb, punoq’s asn and then some others in the mid-high 80s and down into the high 70s.

My husband and I usually play together, that way we avoid arsehole PK’ers, scammers, etc. etc. (well, and drop temporary overstock). Right now we’re doing Countess/Baal NM runs (looking for runes), and slogging through Hell when we get bored with that. Up to act4, we are, and nervy about facing Diablo.

He’s playing a lvl 80 sorceress, iceyind.

We’ve amassed a bit of stuff that’s too good to sell, but we’re too chicken to trade. Don’t wanna get caught in a Rust Storm and have our Chains of Honor disappear (not that we have it yet, but we’re working on it…) I’d trade/give away stuff to you guys, though. Anybody want a Cloudcrack? A Wizendraw?

I am, however, keeping the Seraph’s Hymn for when I can ditch my Mahim-Oak Curio. I need the +10 all attributes and +10 resists on the latter at the moment.

Out of curiosity, are rare +skill items worth anything? I’ve come up with the odd thing like oooh, a heirophant trophy with +2 skills, bows w/ +3 skills that are too high-level for my amazon, stuff like that. I also like to play the transmuting game with all the crap rings and ammies, and I’ve come up with the odd +1 skill, +random resists ammy. I’ve just sold them off in-game, mostly.

We do rushing, Hell meph/baal runs, river, etc. Communal sorc runs 500+ mf with mf tab enabled.

I think, no disrespect meant, that we stopped picking up Wizendraws a while ago. I think we still keep Kukos just to have spares, but soon those too will go the way of the dodo.

Bows with +3 skills, unless it’s on weapon tab with +3 passive for casting valk, are almost always a waste. Reason for this is that the dmg is almost invariably crap. While it’s nice to have +skills, you really want high dmg stuff on folks doing physical damage. However, rare item viability depends on the item.

As a general rule, +skills on a non-caster weapon is a waste, as punha said, unless it’s good for a prebuff. For instance, amazons often wear skill gear to cast their valk, as mentioned, barbarians usually double-wield +warcries on the weapon switch for Battle Orders, and assassins typically double-wield shadow claws on switch for fade/burst of speed, venom, and shadow master. But on anything other than weapons (usually circlets or amulets), skills are good. A head with +2 to all necro skills, for instance, is pretty good, though I’m not sure if we still need any (any necros weigh in, here?).

I know this much: we don’t need more wands.

As of tonight, we have stopped picking up haemosu and langer briser and rattlecage and some other dreck folks shouldn’t have been picking up two weeks ago.

punha may have put things rather…err… bluntly, but he did describe the situation fairly accurately. There are 7 or 8 of us that are on fairly regularly, and there are others that are on once in a while. Most of us have more than one character that are able to do the various hell level magic find runs. The community sorc is carrying over 500 magic find and my necro is carrying over 400.

All this means is that we find a decent amount of elite uniques and store many of them on the community mules. Because of our level, we have some high level stuff and sometime we end up keeping things just because they’re unique or set. I think we have 3 or 4 Cloudcracks, a Wolfhowl helm, 2 +1 Arkaine Valors and other fairly high level stuff that really don’t always have a use… although I think the community barb is using one of the Valors. My barb is using a Gladiator’s Bane, which I find quite adequate.

Don’t feel hesitant to join us if you have (or want to create) USWest Ladder characters. You don’t have to share all your finds with the group and don’t need to join us in a game if there’s something else you’d prefer to be doing. punha isn’t known for his diplomacy and he sometimes comes off as a bit bossy in game, but he’s a good guy and will join in and help you if you need it. He just has his opinion on what’s good for the group, which doesn’t alway jibe with what you think.

Harumph. Translation: I don’t say please and thank you or use complete sentences when answering a question and TPing past fanat amped souls.

[sub]grumble grumble.[/sub]

Let me appologize to iampunha now. When I first read you response to tisiphone I thought that it was a little dismissive of her and her offer to share. Now, as I read it, I don’t see it.

My diplomacy comment was not meant to be a crack, but to lessen an offense that only I saw. What can I say? My brain works (or not) in funny ways.

No worries. I was trying to think of a nice (but not wasteful of words) way to say “We gots us lots of gear,” and those particular words came out.

Besides, we’ve already established that I’m a snob when it comes to items.

Heh. Sorry guys. I was helping my baby brother celebrate his b-day…anyways.

I interpreted the above already as “got lotsa stuff already thanks” (thanks for thinking of my feelings), I just picked up from various fora that skill charms and skill ammys were Looked For, and we turn up a few of 'em that do us no good. I mean, +2 all Druid skills showed up on a Baal GC I was playing with a couple nights ago, and it seemed a shame to get rid of it. Just thought I’d offer…

iampunha, isn’t it terrible how a certain curtness due to time constraints and the need for precision can be so misinterpreted? And I believe the term you’re looking for is “item connoisseur”, is it not?

Of course, you can just be a snob if you want…

GC = Grand Charm? Because those can only get plusses to skill trees, not to class skills, and only +1. So a grand charm might, for instance, be “+1 to shapeshifting skills (druid only)”, but not “+2 to all druid skills”.

If you do join the group, the item flow is likely to be rather one-way for a while. Don’t feel bad about that. Right now, our biggest problem with regards to items is lack of space to put them: We literally have forty-five mules right now, plus however many folks have on their own accounts. But sooner or later, you’ll be contributing right back to the group, whether by items, or help with quests or runs, or whatever.

Hmmmmmm. I could’ve sworn it was a grand charm, but it could have been an amulet…hunh. GC’s only spawn with a +1, as well, so…musta been an amulet. I’ve been having Way Too Much Fun with my cube lately, those lovely recipes to reroll stats, as of course you all know.

Perhaps we’ve been playing a little much lately, I’m starting to lose track…

If you were re-rolling with PGems, that’s charms. Amulets and rings don’t use those.

No … blasphemy … what is this … too … much? Too … does not compute. Error 101: Divide by 0.

Won’t be seeing me or N00binat0r for the rest of the week…we’ll be in Hawaii…

You might see us Monday night unless we’re still catching up on sleep…

Been rerolling mostly charms w/PGems, looking for good resist jobbies, but if you save every crap ring and amulet you get during a play session, and spend another half-hour or so at the end transmuting them back and forth, sometimes you get a goodie. Max you can get with the 3 amulets=1ring and 3 rings=1 amulet is +1 to skills.

And you can so use Pgems and a blue ammy. Says so on the Arreat Summit, that you can reroll the stats on ANY magic item with that recipe. Especially amulets, as this is apparently a somewhat surer way of getting a +2 skill amulet, since you can’t Gamble one before lvl 84. (Info loosely paraphrased from the Arreat Summit). I did it a couple times because it uses the entire ilvl of the item when it rerolls, and I wanted to see what it would make of a high-level Hell amulet. Seemed to work pretty well, but we need good resist charms worse than we need skill ammy’s ATM. And we especially aren’t needing Druid or Assassin stuff, as nobody we play with regularly is running either ATM.

I like mucking around with my stuff and the cube…the new recipes are ACES. I’ve gotten terribly fond of my Goldskin Chaos Armour and the Steelclash Dragon Shield, along with the Bladebuckle war belt. The godly wire fleece my merc is wearing has better defense, but I need the resists really badly, I think I mentioned…

Still pondering whether I want to upgrade the base items one more time, though. I slightly pooched the build, and won’t have 230 strength for shadow plate for at least six more levels. :frowning:

With two chars at least past level 90, we don’t have that problem;)

Hel the armor. It’ll take off 34 str at least.

A paladin shouldn’t have to wear Goldskin for the resists, since it’s so easy to get resists from a shield (especially a paladin shield). The team paladin, for instance, has a 4-socket paladin shield filled with diamonds, for a total of over 100 to all resistances. Yeah, you’d give up some mods on your Steelclash, but you could then replace your armor with something with much better mods. Off the top of my head, you can fairly easily get armors with life or mana steal, life, skills, crushing blow, and open wounds, and for a bit more of an investment, enhanced damage or attack rating.

Incidentally, I found a Spike Thorn (unique Blade Barrier) at ground zero of a particularly large mooclear explosion last night (I think I splattered about 80 cows at once). Not sure what exactly it’s good for; the main mods seem to be physical resist and a ton (100+) damage to attacker.

Ow ow ow. You’re right. The Goldskin’s socketed with a ptopaz, and I’ve been stubborn about giving it up. I like MF ability without compromising my combat abilities too badly, because I’m wierd that way.

I’ve been looking for +skills items to raise my Conviction enough to punch through the immunes. However, if I zip up a decent resist shield, I can wear the Seraph’s Hymn, and it’ll give me +2 to skills (as opposed to 1) and up my damage. As well as leave me ready to acquire new armour.

Fondness only goes so far when survival is at stake.

I was sorta saving that ethereal protector’s shield for the rune word Exile, but since the highest runes we have are Fal, Lum, Lem and Um it’s gonna be a while.

Don’t suppose anyone’s got a spare Herald of Zakarum lying about, eh?

:waits for hysterical laughter to subside:

Well, it was worth mentioning… :stuck_out_tongue:

So have armor for tanking and armor for MFing. We have plenty of gear, anyway. What would you like?

Want a Fetid Sprinkler? We have at least one spare, I think. We have a +44 res shield which, for what I’m worth, you’re welcome to have. It’s clean; the defense isn’t stellar but that shouldn’t hurt you too much.

I don’t know that I’d want to put an Ohm in a shield, but if we can get a few more full mule rushes done, we’d be getting pretty damn close to an Ohm even if the results weren’t so hot.

We had one. I think Hirka is using it. We’ve actually found more of those since ladder 2 than I found during all of pre-ladder.
