I kind of organized and burned in more mules to hold more items, and the amazon seems to have the best array of unique weapons…kuko, witchwild, skystrike, +6 skills bow, lycander’s aim, lycanders flank, stoneraven, cruel stygion pike and some other stuff I forgot.
Lots of beginner sets available for other classes, so if you see Chronos or I, and your starting out on ladder West, hit us up to see what’s available or if you want dump some decent stuff to store for others or for later use.
That goes for me as well, I have a mule or two with low level items, and several mules worth of “upgrade” items for the mid levels.
So does everyone here pretty much play on USWest? I’m thinking I ought to migrate out that way.

Nope, as far as i know they’re just rumors. They seem to have started about a week ago when bnet experienced some heavy lag during the Starcraft 1.11 patch. Blizzard hasn’t released any sort of official statement about a ladder reset.
I have a Spineripper poignard on USWest Ladder if any Necro player wants it. I also have the Iron Jang Bong War Staff for a sorceress (I never play necros, and rarely sorceresses.)
I’m gonna have to make an Assassin. I found both Natalya’s Totem and Natalya’s Mark in the same session a couple weeks ago. I think I also have Bartuc’s on another character.
I’ll be over when I can be. fizzy won’t let me install d2 on here (not to mention I’d have to get a new set of CDs, which while not a bank-breaker isn’t my idea of fun since I won’t be paid from mid may to mid-june while school is out), and I can’t find our Verizon CD to install the software on this machine, so unless someone would like to find for me a place to DL the files …
I know I could just get myself a new CD, but I’m actually in the beginning stages (level 29, act 3) of a pot-less asn. Probably the easiest char to play without drinking a pot, and I haven’t. I’ve used (as in other than selling it) only a minor healing pot so far total in the game, and that was for the merc when she was down to 4 HP, not regening any, and we were facing no action. I’m determined to face Meph after level 29, because while Shadow Warrior is nice, Shadow Master kicks butt, takes names and, more importantly, takes a hell of a lot of damage.
Last try I had with this I didn’t beat Diablo, whose fire and lightning attacks kicked my ass (I got done with one attempted set of claw attacks, he lightninged me to 100 of 400 hp, and I left te game). I died (HC char) at about level 39? But my gear is better and I’ve learned a lot since that character, including about when it’s okay to sit back and kill slowly.
Larz i picked up a trang helm and belt to go with the rest of the parts i gave you. I’ll be on tomorrow night to drop them off.
Phase let me know if you need anything for the assassin, i think i have an extra Nat’s armor, and i may have a pair of the boots that i can give you. Also, i might have an extra shadowkiller or jade talon, if i haven’t already given them away.
Eonwe come on over, we’d love to have you! If there’s any particular character you’d like to start, let us know, i’m sure we can set you up with some starter equipment. My 28 conc barb is lonely and could use some company in normal.

By the way, i traded for an IK armor today, so if anyone was thinking about making an IK barb, let me know before i trade it off for anything else.

I think I’m going to start a couple of new characters this weekend. I’ve always enjoyed playing a bowazon, and I want to see what I can do with a bonemancer since I’ve never made one before.

I’ve got two imbue quests backed up on my Strafeazon, and she’s in Act I Hell so should soon have the third.
Now, this is the first time I’ve managed to get a character this far with those quest rewards untaken, and I’m wondering: when is the best time to cash them in, and what should I be looking to use them on?
Another minor question: how much Dex does a Strafeazon need before you start dumping points into Vit? I aborted my 1.09 Strafeazon at Clvl35 or so in favour of a Burizon.
All answers with SP in mind, please.

I also have been collecting Nat’s & Trang’s sets, but I forgot which item(s) they are since I have it in storage until I reach those levels. I also have a paltry 11/10/9 (or was it 10/11/9?) anni that I wouldn’t mind switching for something better. Just speaking up.
It depends on what you need, IMHO. If you’re sitting around with an Eaglehorn or Windforce bow, there’s no sense using it there, but if you’re stuck with a magic bow doing 15-50 damage or so… well then you’d want to imbue an elite bow. If you need boots, or gloves, or a helm, wait until you find a normal, white named elite of what you need… then imbue it. Since I play on-line, I rarely worry about the imbue at all.
Okay, I don’t play single player, but I do play alone a lot.

I will never, never, never dump point into vit, because you cannot have too many points in dex. My 1.09 bowazon had over 325 dex… and I wanted more. I’d make sure that I have between 650 and 750 life and dump points into dex. punha disagrees with this and wants 1000 life or more. As always your mileage may vary.
I agree with Who_Me? about dex. My single-player bowazon (mostly Strafe and Immolation) basically never got hurt. The only things that could touch her were Aura Enchanted and Lightning Enchanted (the latter only rarely, thanks to Slow Missiles). And any of those, she could easily heal faster than the damage came in, with about 15% life steal. The only problems come with phys immune aura enchanted. Dex, on the other hand, improves everything for a bowazon: It gives you more damage, more attack rating, and more defense.
As for Imbues, I’ve never gotten anything good from one, and I therefore haven’t bothered to use any on any of my online characters. If any other Dopers want to use some of my imbues, let me know (though I’m probably past optimum level by now).
Meanwhile, we were all duelling on West a few days ago, and there’s something I’m still puzzling over. Namely, how was YeticusRex’s amazon so able to withstand my fireballs? My fireballs do 12k damage. 95% fire resistance would knock that down to 600, and 15% fire absorb would bring it down to 420. Even if we throw in Rising Sun and a generous Magic Damage Reduced by 50, that’s still over 400 damage per fireball. I can’t imagine that a 'zon would have much more than about 1000 life, but it was taking about 8 or 10 fireballs to finish the job. Yeti, what’s your secret?
Isn’t damage against other players greatly reduced? I was under the impression that it was about half of the damage listed.
I’ll be up for starting a new character this weekend…though I don’t know what I should make. I have had almost everything except a sorc, and I don’t know how those work at all. Maybe a barb of some sort since I haven’t seen anyone with one of those on yet. Too many builds, too little time!

Nothing to add; I just wanted to say hi to the old gang. I haven’t played in forever, moved on to Dark Age of Camelot, but I miss the old D2 days.
I’ve got an upgraded Shaeled Buriza. Bows aren’t a problem.
It’s fiddly, because I’m not sure what I need - and even if I don’t need it for my Strafeazon I can always make something for another character. Helms, gloves and armour I know I’ve got better than I could possibly imbue for any class, and I also have quite a few of the best class-specific weapons, but I’m not sure if there’s anything better I can get.
Here’s the best equipment (FCVO best) I have for each slot I’m not sure about. Where are the holes?
Belt: IK Detail, Credendum, Goldwrap. I’d like better, but I don’t know if I can improve on those.
Boots: Infernostride, Sandstorm Trek, IK Pillar. I’m sure I can do better on boots.
Shield: Lidless Wall (Herald of Zakarum for Paladins). No point imbuing a Pally shield, but is an imbued shield ever likely to be better than an Ancient’s Pledge or Milabrega’s Orb?
2-H melee: Doombringer, Bloodtree Stump, Bonehew. I think I’m OK here.
1-H melee: Ginther’s Rift, a few rares. I’m not certain about this one.
Mmm. I’ve been dropping 0/3/2/0 and it seems to be working OK, but obviously I want optimal Dex.

Actually, one duel between us that was memorable, was me just sitting there typing something, and during that time you flung about 10 fireballs at me; some doing about 20 damage, some doing 50 and maybe one BAD one doing about 80. When we go on line next time (prob. tonight), we’ll have to do that again in a controlled setting where you fireball me once, and I’ll echo back the damage that I took, before you do the next one. As for items and armor, I’ll have to get back to you on that or post again when I’m at home. I do remember having Infernostrides, Nokazin Amulet, Dwarf Star, Andariels Visage, that moser’s with 2 p.diamonds. I MIGHT have had a second Dwarf Star on as well, but I’m not sure. I’ll let you know later.
theckhd - I’ll have to take you up on the Assassin stuff. Still interested in the Ethereal Edge, as well. But so far, we haven’t bumped into each other on BNet yet!
