I had originally searched for his site after I first read his thread AND before seeing this one. AND I clicked on it and had to shutdown Firefox. Should I run Adaware and a virus scan now, just in case?
Question: what did you see that made you shut down firefox? I run firefox, but I cut the wireless connection before I shut firefox down, and I think that should have saved me. Before that, though, I saw small windows with three letter messages that were trying to pop up and run programs. What did you see?
Also, running adaware is never a bad idea.
That guy makes Obama birthers, 9-11 truthers, and moon landing hoaxers look downright scholarly.

I remember about 10 years ago someone I vaguely knew from a BBS started up a web site dedicated to the idea that many of the East Coast Native American Tribes were actually Kingdoms founded by African Explorers centuries before the Europeans got involved (and subsequently intentionally destroyed all evidence of these advanced African nations).
Grew quite irrational and angry when I asked him for any sort of objective proof of these claims.
All I know is he brings out the funny in a lot of posters. I hope he sticks around.

You should probably quarantine your computer from the internet for at least 30 days. I know this will be particularly rough for you, Guinastasia, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Maybe you could use this time to investigate that “outside” your parents talk about when they think you are out of earshot.

You guys are forgetting one simple concept. Online, people often pretend to be other people. If a poster by this name has created as much trouble as we think, it stands to reason that someone else may copy his name to further discredit him. Remember that restaurant girl who TALKED like THIS?
The biggest reason I suspect this is that, with the Google link provided, you’ll notice that Egmond Codfried is the most common spelling of the guy’s name.
Also, whoever found the bad site needs to report it at http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/report_badware/ . After it is verified by the guys at stopbadware.com, it will be blacklisted on Google (you know, with that warning “This site may harm your computer”), and Firefox will put up a warning if you try and navigate there. All attack sites should be reported. I’m not sure why Google doesn’t make it easier to pull off.
I may consider checking this out in a VM later.
Basically it kept tellling me that I had a virus, and I had to click so I could run a scan and it was dangerous – BUT, it wasn’t my McAfee telling me that. It was the pop-ups from the website, and I couldn’t close the damned things, so I ended up having to just close FireFox alltogether.
It wasn’t what I saw so much as that the pop-ups wouldn’t stop coming. So I just said “fuck it” and shut it down to get the fucking things to stop. Fucking pop-ups.

So ? Whether the guy is an honest to god kook, or a troll pretending to be a kook doesn’t really matter on our end of the screen, does it ?
I brought this to the attention of the other mods after you reported the post. I leave it in the hands of people who know more about this stuff than I do.
It looks like he was suspended from that site for starting a thread, making counterfactual claims, and not responding quickly enough. While almost everything he has said on this board is counterfactual (i.e. completely wrong), you can’t accuse him of not responding. Some of his responses have been evasive and he’s done a horrible job of supporting his arguments but we’re not as hardline as Study of Racialism about requiring people to respond in a certain way.
He’s posting here as Egmond Codfried, not Edmond.
If this problem continues I’d go to malwarebytes.org and download and use their progam.
